FIX FOR FREEZING ON THE LOADING SCREENCourtesy of pcultimate from the Bioware forums for creating the dummy load.blk files and mtvnot from Piratebay for figuring out the fucked up .blk files that don't play correctly for whatever reason:

Get those files.
Replace the following files ONLY,
NOT ALL OF THEM, or you won't be able to move forward with the game past the IFF sequence of events. Only the files below are broken, the rest you should be able to watch.

If you're getting in-game freezing every few seconds, do the following:
Go to the folder where you installed the game.
Go to Binaries and make a shortcut of MassEffect2.exe.
Now open properties on this shortcut and add the line -nomoviestartup.
It should look like this "...Binaries\MassEffect2.exe" -nomoviestartup.
Start the game. It should work lag free now.

Many games, last gen even, have had that. I just can't think of any off the top of my head.
EDIT: Found this if it helps, haven't tried it myself so can't attest to how useful it is:

So the one collector ship crafting a human reaper became active around the same time saren did his attack. How come sovereign and harbinger didn't cooperate or collector tech wasn't used in the citadel assault?
Blah disclaimer: anomalies only, yes there are other side missions from e-mail and stuff. These are the ones you scan for.

How do we do this, cause I did have some insane loading times?
I remember finishing ME1 and I had a list of things I wanted in ME2, and I am pretty sure they hit every damn thing on my list. Insane.
I have no such list for ME3, I just want more Mass Effect.
early-midearly spoiler question
How fucked up can Shepard's face get? I went mostly renegade, and I LOVED her glowing eyes, especially in Jack's bunk. And her face was pretty shredded, but what's the worst it can look anyone have a SS?
The Collector ship isn't that strong. An upgraded Normandy was able to take it out, it probably wouldn't have been a major force in the Citadel battle. They didn't want to waste the Collectors on plan A, as they still need them to do experiments and shit once the next cycle comes around.
Harbinger seems to have activated once Sovereign died, possibly because Sovereign died which sent out a signal.

There, I put it in the OP.
Also, should probably put the "max minerals required to upgrade" list in the OP.
Yeah, that is a little far fetched.
If you have access to that data... you probably have access to all the other kinds of data as well.
Including Harbinger.
I have just
How many more story missions are there? I kind of want to progress the story but still do a lot of the optional stuff.
Give me the list.
that's why we call it the struggle, you're supposed to sweat
EDIT: also regardless of how likely it is i like that theory.
A little harder for the other classes that aren't as buff as Soldier and Sentinel.
But yeah, that is exactly the same team I brought, for that exact reason.
someone posted a spreadsheet at the end of the last thread that supposedly lists all this stuff but I haven't looked at it yet
that's why we call it the struggle, you're supposed to sweat
no he doesnt
Yeap, if I'm gonna put that up there, I need it in a format that's not exclusive to Excel.
ed: I mean, why not just link the spreadsheet?
that's why we call it the struggle, you're supposed to sweat
Since these things deterred me from buying part 1, this is relevant.
FemShep pulls of the Renegade voice so much better.

Basically you set it to use just one core, then allow it to use all cores again. Toggling the two like that fixes the problem.
Unfortunately you need to do it every time you start the game, but some searching reveals someone made a small app to do it for you:
http://www.playwrite-blog.net/tools-and-utilities/auto-set-processor-affinity-for-mass-effect-2-pc-with-massaffinity-fix-those-load-times/
Note: I have not used this app myself and can't make any statements about it, use at your own risk etc.
Because the information is not clear unless you have one specific program for it, that's not exactly in common use.
