Just had another satisfying win 2v2 on twilight fortress, the shared base aspect is kind of fun. Also I think I have gotten the hang of a simple Terran build order, 11 supply barracks and refinery, pump a couple marines then build a reactor and a second barracks, fit the second one with a tech lab and upgrade CC to orbital command. In the lower skill brackets everyone hates rushing and generally tries to tech, which means attacking with a large low tech army earlier on generally wins games.
Man, FUCK. Apparently my Brood War has stopped working.
I'll be on the gateway selection screen (US EAST, US WEST, etc.) and whenever I click one to join, the screen goes blank, and then boots me straight back to the gateway screen. It should take me to the login page (with your record to the right), but that doesn't even come up. It boots me boots me back before it gets there.
alright if you are on 7
then try firstly only launching from the .exe in the starcraft folder, as well as running as administrator by right clicking

i had this same exact problem on 7
but you might be using a different os so eh
Er, I ran a battle.net diagnostic tool and I get this...
"You appear to be IP Banned. Error! 10054"
So that's news.
Can't imagine why...hacking or doing otherwise illicit stuff is something I couldn't care less about, nor have time for.
edit: IP banned for uswest, useast and asia (which I've never even connected to). Only Europe allows me to connect.
yeah i just watched the replay, it was more like 1 baneling > 20 marines with medit support. He just stimmed as he walked right on top of it and i popped it. Hmmm, I wish i had the software to record that.
It's in your replay folder, and isn't Fraps completely free?
I called and am having Mediacom come out tomorrow to hook up internet access for me.
I assume this has something to do with the fact that I've been using "IowaHotSpot.net" as my wifi internet connection for the last few months...a free public wifi service that is surprisingly fast.
So, I think that by having an ISP come out tomorrow and hook up my own high speed internet connection that I'll have a different IP address and will be able to get on. Sound about right?

fraps has a free trial which allows 30 second clips
OP needs screenshots
i came in here to see screenshots
There's a new OP going up in a little while, but I mean there's that whole great big internet out there full of screenshots.'
If you guys want to post some screens from your games, I'm not opposed to throwing them up, but most people don't go "I should screenshot this" in the middle of a giant battle, they go "DIE COLOSSUS DIE SHIT WHY DON'T YOU DIE FUUUUUUUUCK".

Really? I have seen a lot of 1v1 rushes. I had 2 protoss try to rush me last night in 1v1. Neither of them did a very good job of it though, they let me keep control of the towers while they advanced. One guy even tried to run his zlots from my speedlings when I attacked his guys in them middle (he was trickling them in). That only resulted in a bunch of free kills. Neither of these guys choked their ramp, which made it really easy to put lings on his mineral line while the fight was happening. I guess they just assumed their no scout rush would work.
I mean, I'm sort of ignorant when it comes to IP addresses...but I'm pretty sure that my IP address will change when I move from the free public wifi to the private in-home connection that I'm setting up tomorrow with an ISP...
So yeah, in that case, I'll have a new IP address and won't be blocked out because of an IP ban on the public wifi that I've been using.
Still have no idea why the IP was banned...but it has mad port issues with many different games and subsequent connection problems (closed ports...almost sure it's a dynamic IP address too, which may be what Blizzard took issue with). I can see why a public wifi hotspot, with tons of people connecting and disconnecting, would raise some red flags for blizzard's security system.
I'm seeing a lot of people saying that the game will show up on your Battle.net account before you get an email.
I've heard it enough that it must be the case in general, but when I was invited (first day), I had to enter the beta key from my email before the game was added to my account. SC2 was not there before I redeemed the code.

If it was a public wifi, it was probably banned because some tool used it while hacking on battle.net or something and got the IP banned. If you get a private connection it will have its own IP and you'll be fine.

I play brood war a few times a week a college friend a couple states away.

I love the fort so much
Just watching a rush crash into it and explode, as marines push it back
Should have been Monty.barkbarkbark
It really should have
I thought I'd pick something that represented my level of expertise
DAMN IT I WANNA KILL SOME *insert SC race here*!
Even if you did it delete that email it should show up in your b.net games list right
If you were, SCII will be in the list of your games on the main page.

Because Blizzard does stuff like that, right? That's the only reason I'm not in this awesome beta, RIGHT?

im slowly getting the hang of it, but my tripping up when trying to decide when to build scvs/depots then get my rax up.
usually my marines get mauled by a much larger marine force that comes stomping into my base
Just come play some custom games with us. Though, I don't know if any of us play much terran.
Bahamut.zero does.

True. I haven't been able to play with him much yet.
I can play right now if you want.
