... and come see the Rocky Horror Picture Show with us!

I'm from the Satanic Mechanics (the RHPS cast of the University of Maryland) and my entire group of PAX people are from my cast. We are planning to go see Full Body Cast at Harvard Square Saturday night at Midnight and it would awesome to get a whole bunch of PAXers together to go as well. The theater is about a 15 minute drive from the convention center according to Google Maps. It's the AMC in Harvard Square. The price for a ticket is $9.75

For those of you who don't know, The Rocky Horror Picture Show is the longest running movie in theaters of all time and a huge cult classic. Throwing toast, shouting at the screen, and trashy lingerie are all encouraged. I've only been going for four years and doing it for two but Rocky has given me some of the fondest college memories I'll ever have.

For those of you who *do* know, think of how awesome it would be to fill a theater with fellow gamers. Especially if some of them are in cosplay.

Does this sound like something people would be interested in doing?

Maaaybe... if it's not on Saturday night; speaking of which, got a time for this thaaang? Price is not that big of a worry, but timing can be! From getting in & sleep, to the adventures of PAX itself, it may be difficult in finding some time in our already packed event schedules! But yeah, if everything works, I'd be interested.

I've been cast (Riff) here in PA, so depending on the time and place I'd be down for it.

A few things: first, depending on traffic in Boston, Harvard Square can be a 5 or 35 minute drive. Also, the theater is tucked away down a side street, and isn't really obvious (just an FYI). Also, I'm pretty sure RHPS on Saturday nights is pretty popular at that theater (not sure, I saw it there one 5-6 years ago on a random Saturday and it was packed), so depending on how many people you have going you may want to show up significantly earlier than midnight. I'm sure there is some forum somewhere that has RHPS that can tell you for sure.

I don't drive so i can't tell you how long it will take to get there, and since you're on a cast you know how long RH can drag on, which may not be conducive to PAX enjoyment. The Rocky Horror show at Harvard is only really busy at Halloween. The rest of the year it's kinda empty except when people decide to make it an outing and bring 20+ friends. And on Staurday night, parking is a bitch in Harvard Square (according to my friends w/cars) so you may be better off T-ing it to Harvard square and taking a taxi back.

I'm not really into doing this during PAX, since it'll eat up a large chunk of time, and having seen 100+ Rocky Horror shows it's not really an event anymore to me :P

Eeeeeeehh... tempting initially, since I've still never seen the movie, but too far and I'm sure there'll be other things to do at pax as it's going on ><

I'm equally a nerd over videogames as I am Rocky so it would be remiss of me to pass up the opportunity to see one of the best casts on the East coast (so I'm told). We'll be planning on getting to the theater around 11:45 so anyone who would like to join us feel free to meet us there but I can understand the apprehension over staying out until 3 in the morning during PAX. Also, since the schedule hasn't been released yet, we don't know what would be going on Saturday night so that's another obstacle.

Just a heads up - Driving to Harvard Square would be a tremendously stupid idea. There's very little parking in the area, meanwhile the T will drop you off right there. You'd have to cab it back, but it'd only be $5/head or so if people split cabs.

The easiest option in terms of public transport would actually be the #1 bus (Harvard Sq, via Mass Ave)

It picks up a block away from Hynes Con Center and drops off a block from the theatre. 10min ride.

Awesome. Thanks for the advice. I'm no stranger to public transportation but I've never used Boston's. This makes things a lot easier.

Yea ... I just don't like suggesting the bus system to people who aren't from the area.

I've always wanted to see RHPS and would love to go, but I'll be at PAX with friends and I'm unsure as to whether or not they would want to make the (short) trek out to see it, especially considering we don't know what the Saturday night schedule is yet.

Good lookin' out though! I'll keep you posted!

I might add that a cab ride from Harvard Sq to the Sheraton will run at about $12, and that the bus won't be running when the movie's over.

Oh good, we thought this thread had died and we resigned ourselves to going alone; we may make a trip of it yet!
I'll set up a time and place to meet once the schedule for PAX is set.

I've been looking (salivating) over Full Body Cast's website. They look fantastic! If you have never gone to RHPS (and even if you have), FBC is going to be awesome.

[Ps. Nice avatar chupamlubre; I saw them when them came to DC.)
