Smash Brothers anyone?

Maybe I'm missing something but it doesn't seem like Smash Brothers will be setup anywhere? I'm excited to experience everything else at PAX but at the same time, given how many Smash players would be present, I would love to see some high-level playing.

Anyone else agree?

Ok, would I have to bring my own equipment or do you think it will already be setup on a few stations or something?

CFP has lots of game station setups, you just need to check out a game/controllers from them and they will assign you a station for a time.

I recall they had some dedicated fighting game stations that were on a rotating game schedule as well.

I would be up for some smash, particularly Melee, but not with rules like that. Let me know if anyone intends to play on some of the more interesting stages, with items turned on. I just can't get into the final destination/no items stuff. Nothing more boring than watching 4 dudes wavedashing back and forth, just have some fun guys.

Just because you don't find high-level play exciting doesn't mean other people don't.

I'm down for smash, any of the 3 on any ruleset. I'll be on the lookout for this console free play place.

The No items final destination fox only is sort of a joke in the smash community, but yes I am interested in the competitive rules (no items, neutral/counter pick stages, etc) We still play pokefloats and rainbow cruise :D

If there is some melee being played, I'm all for it. I'd love if a Brawl+ station could get set up, but I don't see that happening.

Also, I'm a no items kind of guy. Final Destination isn't the only stage option for us competifags, it's only the most common. The only stage outright banned is Hyrule Temple.

When this topic spirals out of control over the terrible impending discussion of stages in SSBM, I'm going to look back and remember that post Moe.

hello there! I'm totally up for smash under any set of rules - items, no items, any stage. I'll be dropping by console freeplay lots during the weekend and will look for other smash fans! I love melee the best but brawl's ok by me too.

    lol@gundabad hating on wavedashing.

and hyrule can be fun - trappping someone on the bottom platform and smashing them into the wall until they hit 300... good times.
