I called up Lir's and dropped Waterborn's name and such and got us a room upstairs for our party. We can do split checks or whatever and have access to the bar. $4 pizzas.
Must be 21 to go. Sorry atiari's +2 and others who aren't 21 yet.
That sounds much better. I was originally wanting something like what Kropotkin mentioned and not spending a lot of money, so this should work out well. See you all there!
Lir is awesome, directly across the street from PAX and the third floor room that Rdr reserved is very nice (it is going to serve as the VIP area for our Gamers Gone Wild event on Saturday - you all should plan to join us for that too BTW). Sorry I didn't respond sooner folks. Battling a nasty case of food poisoning for the past two days. (damned burrito joints here in Boston) Rdr, let me know if you need to finalize anything with the folks at Lir, I will be swinging by there next week to finalize plans for our event on Sat.

In the first post you said that we will have our own room. Do you know if it would be possible to hook up a 360 to a TV or projector for some Rock Band 2 enjoyment?
If the manager says it's cool I can provide:
Xbox 360
HDMI and Component/Composite Cable
2 Guitars
Rock Band 1 drums
1 Microphone and one 360 controller
Rock Band 2 disc
Beatles Rock Band Disc
All I need is one person to help me and Joe carry the equipment from the Sheraton to the bar.
Also, I could use two more compatible mics if you guys want to use them for the Beatles games.
I set all this stuff up at last year's Post PAX party and we had a blast. I highly recommend it.

Its a good possibility. I can call this afternoon or tomorrow and confirm.
Hey Rdr, I am actually stopping by Lir tomorrow to check on some logistics for our event on Saturday. If you did not talk to them yet, I can touch base with my contact there to see if we can set up some games. It should not be an issue. They have at least 4 TV's on the third floor that we could hook into. I can bring my 360 and some older consoles (you name it I have it) as long as we can link into the sets. Just let me know if you already spoke with them.
AHHH I am headed back to school by then, can you send me a private message to get in touch with you at pax?? I host a radio show on my college campus called "Nerd Word" This is my first time at a convention like this, and my third time going for interviews! Please get back to me!

I forgot about you going there. Also, the guy I talked to was Dek. I thought he said his name was Dick but the site says Dek so I must've heard him incorrectly. But ya, see if we can hijack those tellies.

I can try to remember to send you a PM or you can just stumble in at 730pm if you're there. We're not doing interviews. You're just having a beer and pizza and hanging out with other people doing gaming related shit.
I know it's not interviews, Just would really love to talk with you guys! Im coming in from Southeast Missouri State University....Maybe i should join the !pikachu crew?

So do you want me to put you on the roster for this event?
I think Team Blue needs more players right now but it doesn't matter which team you join.
Count me in, please. I'm a contributing writer to Otaku USA magazine (yes, we do cover videogames!) and occasional onscreen personality for Anime News Network, so I dabble in video podcasting (click the ANN link for a sample). I'll try to harass my colleague Neil (freelance anime/videogame Japanese-English translator) into tagging along, so make that me+1.
Hey folks, sorry for the delayed update, been insanely busy lately. Stopped by Lir on the way home last night and we are good to go with setting up consoles/gaming on 3 TV's on the third floor. I can bring my 360 (or other, more "classic" consoles) if needed. Let's start a list in the first post for who is bringing what so that everyone is on the same page. BTW, make sure that you have Component cables (or S-Video) for any systems you bring, as we cannot get to the hi-def composite inputs on the back of the TV's due to the way they are secured to the walls. The one exception to this little bit is a 30" radially mounted TV toward the front of the room.
I co-host the very new and very unknown Gamepads Unplugged podcast, as well as try to keep up with the shows' blog. I also write pieces for IshTalkers which includes gaming related pieces. So not sure I qualify for this band of merry internet personalities, but I would like to put myself in there as a possibility if I qualify. Could always benefit from the opportunity to learn from those who are more experienced.

You'll be fine. This is kind of the point of the meetup.
Personally, I don't run a podcast(yet) but I did for 9 months in 2009. I would've had a podcast up by now but PAX money is more important. So my goal is to build relationships within this awesome community.

I know I'll be looking to bring some quality, but relatively unknown podcasts to my unknown website
The whole idea is for all of us journalists of all media formats to get together, relax, and perhaps collaborate on projects.
Other than my clothing, I'll be easily spotted by my distinct likeness to Mario. No, I'm really not kidding XD
Seeing as how there will be a number of events occurring while this party is taking place, I'm starting to wonder whether anyone might be interested in sitting down in a large group at a couple or few tables in front of the camera for a short period of time and talking about your adventures at PAX for the PAX Community DVD. There would be no questions; just a group chat, which is exactly what we'll be doing anyway. Only it would be in front of a camera. I think this would be a great place for us all to share our love of the event and encourage other people to go as well. So who's up for the idea of having a camera set up at a table or two or three?

How have I gone this long without hearing about this? I'll totally come. I don't podcast, but I do write game reviews and I've been thinking about podcasting for a while now. Is that cool?

Is it just me or would the Wii be amazing in this party? Some boxing or tennis competition...
In the things we could use column I would like to add 2 microphones and two mic stands for The Beatles.

Thanks. I think I may still have my RB1 mic around somewhere. That should work, right?
Also, how do people feel about some games like NBA 2K20 and Madden 10?
