Hmm. I found the Battlefield 1943 version better but in the end, yes it was the original theme sounding ... cleaner.

I don't care for BF1943 as a game, but they took the already perfect 1942 theme and somehow made it even better.

If I'm reading that right all but two of your kills were from the 40mm? I thought the stat was per round but last night I got an all-time stat there, maybe I bugged out, or maybe I initially thought wrong.

I take it back. It is like the 1942 theme but somehow more perfect.

I'm wondering about that, too. I don't THINK I used it that many times, and I remember a lot of rifle kills. I'm thinking that's my total kills for my entire time on the server. 35 kills that match. 33 kills with the 40mm GL over all the games so far.

Now now... you can only have 2 40mm grenades on you at a time... I mean you have to go through all that trouble of dropping the ammo box and waiting a second or two to get another one.

Your bitter tears are delicious. And in case you missed it, there's at LEAST two assault rifle pins there. So that means at LEAST 14 kills were from the assault rifle. Likely more. Throw in a few stabbings and pistol kills and it's pretty obvious I only use the 40mm 25-30% of the time.

Bullshit it is. It's an excellent mid range weapons that requires skill to operate. Unlike the CG it doesn't work in close quarters (or even close-medium) and the explosive radius is smaller.

If you know how to use terrain its very hard to get hit by one (I almost never die to them).

Shamelessly plugging myself, but the best Battlefield Theme is the one I use at the end of this video:

    Should I buy BC2?

Picked this up on Steam last night because, WOOO, Battlefield. I've always been more of a "Battlefield guy" than a "Call of Duty guy", so it's kind of nice to have something to pull me away from MW2. I haven't played a serious Battlefield since BF2, so I am hoping this lives up to the legacy.

I've gotta go with the BF1943 "remake" myself. You can tell it was done with a real orchestra in a real recording area, not all synthesized like the BF1942 theme. It's just a much cleaner, better sounding version of the same theme.

So I keep waffling between humming the A-Team theme, feeling like a badass and screaming/swearing at the TeeVee because I am the ONLY guy on my team who has ever heard of an MCOMM. I swear I've never played a game where my enjoyment relied almost solely on the silly goose ratio of my team.

I am about 5 minutes from just selling BC2 on eBay, but then I find myself showing some mans the classy grandeur of Carl Gustav from the back of Blackhawk and it's suddenly all better. I don't know if I enjoy this game or not! Am I in an abusive relationship?

Also, thanks for the avatar, Echo. Poo the sig generator won't take my custom pics...gonna try again from home later.

What's the "mystery number" in the scoreboard?
The number in game is not PING.
What the number shows in game is game latency.
This is basically how far behind the client is compared to the server.
We try to keep the server a small portion in front of the clients so in most cases it can use replicated data until they get the next ghost update from the server. If there is a lag spike it will start predicting the state when they run out of information, however, the basic idea is to smooth out the experience compared to everything having to be corrected when the predictions are slightly off.
