Pretty good week.
DSI XL comes out, should be out today. If you're interested in that.
WarioWare DIY comes out for
NDS this week. Should be good crazy WarioWare fun, plus that creative DIY element. DS also MIGHT be getting Monster Rancher DS, but I'm getting conflicting release dates so I somehow doubt it'll actually be out this week... BUT keep an eye out for it. Amazon still says this week. "
Again" looks like a possibly interesting Adventure game for the system but I know nothing about it.
PC gets
Mount & Blade: WarBand. The expansion pack to the very popular and successful original
PSP gets
Dead or Alive Paradise... the very shameless, uh, game where you tell the DOA chicks to like.. meander around as you take photos of them? You should see the trailers they've run for this game... yeesh...
PSP also gets another RPG though I know nothing about it,
Mimana Iyar Chronicles. It's brought over by our favorite folks at Aksys.
The
Wii and PS2 (haven't seen PS2 in a while) get the RPG,
Sakura Wars: So Long My love. Looks like a good SRPG for these systems. Developed by Sega and RED Company.
The
360 gets some cool stuff this week. It finally gets
Mega Man 10, so get on that! 360 also gets SNK's newest
Samurai Showdown: Sen. Apparently it's a port of the 3D samsho arcade game from 2008 (in JPN), and features excruciatingly long load times and last-gen level graphics. The 360 also gets
Zeno Clash, of all things, i think on
XBLA. It's a great sort of sleeper hit PC game so check it out. It's an FPS but with a lot of really cool melee combat, set in a really strange exotic world.

Dead or Alive Paradise sounds like a softcore porn version of Pokemon Snap (read: awesome)
It's BIG. It's got all the DSi flavor, but bigger. Kinda pixely but nothing too bad, save for maybe the old school health and safety warning.
SD card slot, no GBA slot, downloadable titles, hot swapping on home menu. Really impressive web browser with a very function zoom screen and readable text screen. Great for text heavy pages like, oh, I don't know, gamefaqs.
DoA: Paradise is probably saddled with stupid as shit minigames to interrupt all the objectification of unrealistically proportioned women with chests not subject to normal physics.
The DSi XL
Now there's a handheld I could dig, if Nintendo hadn't undermined it by announcing the 3DS before the thing even launches
Yeah, I know in a year there'll be a 3DS, but, I probably won't buy that at launch. I might. I dunno. My DS is my favorite handheld ever and I don't think I would mind having a nice large screen version to play my games on even if I end up getting a 3DS down the line.
As far as games this week I probably won't buy anything. I haven't bought any games in a while because I've been far too busy making one.

Also, I thought Lost and Damned got delayed a few weeks.

I'm getting a bonus soon, you know not what you do
I'll be picking that one up for the inbuilt and downloadable microgames more than the making my own. In fact the European downloadable content support can be a bit patchy (we got a whole one pack to download on Picross DS for example) so I might import for that.
I'm surprised it's not DSi camera compatible though.
Edit: Just realised that an import copy probably wouldn't talk to the European version of the associated Wii Ware thingy. I guess I'll just have to wait.
Edit edit: Just checked out some reviews. Every single one mentions the magical words 'Mario Paint'. If no one has made a thread by the time I get home I'm so threading this up. Mario Paint+ DS would be deserving of attention on it's own, but Mario Paint+ DS plus Wario Ware plus organised content sharing. Sounds pretty damn awesome to me.

I actually really want one now, but haven't really got the spare cash or time to use it. Especially with that new 3D handheld on the horizon. But for anyone even remotely on the fence - buy one, they ooze quality.
On another note, Zeno Clash XBLA looks interesting, wonder what it will cost?
I'm all over XBLIG at the moment, just bought Squid Yes! Not So Octopus for 80 MS points. Bargain!
Would be buying more stuff for Game Room if it wasn't so utterly broken at the moment...
(Please do not gift. My game bank is already full.)
Very interested in Zeno Clash. Hope it's not too costly.

The DSI XL is, as aforementioned, fucking huge. I realize that's the purpose, but goddamn, it's bigger than I was expecting. The added space is put to good use (93% bigger screen), but given the prior screen on the DS, I kind of need to wonder...why? Isn't it the same screen, but bigger? I suppose if you had particularly bad vision, it's a help, but it's not going to look any better though (and potentially somewhat worse). But, apparently, it has the feeling of a quality product...I'm probably just overestimating the usefulness (and popularity) of the prior model's compact size.
Fix'd.
Do not engage the Watermelons.
The idea is here to stay--see Soul Calibur. To their credit, Namco's taken it to the next level with boob sliders and destructible clothing.
Additionally, how much heavier is the new DS? Weight's less of problem then size, and won't keep you from storing one in a pocket the same way, but from what I've seen, it doesn't look that much heavier.
Soul Calibur morphed into that. Last I saw, it still had the basic mechanics of a decent game. Team Ninja games really only have one focus and then the distraction of 'zOMG HARD!'.
Do not engage the Watermelons.
Fix'd.
Also (probably only of interest to me), the new DS barely weighs any more than the original DS (makes you appreciate how much lighter the DSi and DS Lite were than the launch model). Kind of impressive, you can find a handy chart here.
EDIT: Also, I may be alone on this, but am I the only one who's still a little disappointed than they went with the fifth Sakura Wars game to finally bring over?
It wasn't until SC2 that things started getting...jiggly. SC3 when when the series started running headlong down the hill. DOA was still always about the sex appeal.
Do not engage the Watermelons.
SC2 had more than enough jiggle to be conspicuous as hell, especially given that it moved about 1 to 2 seconds ahead of the character in question. Really, SC has still always been about the panty flashes (not exactly unique in that regard). SE was kind of exempt, but my memory is fuzzy. Personally I'd call DOA2's complex levels and proper implementation of 4-player tag team a lot more impressive than destructible clothing and boob sliders.
Namco also gave us Death by Degrees, which was to remind us they too could provide that awkward hybrid of thongs and gun fighting. If the game hadn't completely sucked, however, you wonder how it might have impacted Tekken as a franchise....
Again on the DS is by CING, the same guys who made a little known adventure game called Hotel Dusk.

Intriguing.
But, reality wise, almost anything can seem intriguing on YouTube if done properly.
No, this game sounds really interesting.
I love Cing. I hope they survive their money problems.

Add me!
I knew I'd recognised the name of the game from something. It's definitely made my list of games to try and get.
Do not engage the Watermelons.
I'll even be importing Last Window from Europe if Nintendo decides not to localize it here in the States.

I guess right now it's a matter of how good the translation is.
I have the America`s Test Kitchen cookbook and baking book: Actual Book Editions. They are solid, solid cookbooks with some really excellent tips I`ve never read elsewhere. I`d never get my DS anywhere near my own cooking (I`m a mess), but I certainly stand by the brand.
Gamestop has it available to buy now from their site, and it should be on shelves tomorrrow (or the next day). Same goes for amazon (release date tomorrow).
Unless these sites are behind in changing their info..

The Wii version was ported by them.
The game was developed by Sega and RED Company. Can not wait.
oh, didn't realize that.

Ooh, really? That is neat.
I want the XL.
A proper case for the XL must be laptop sized.
