PAX Prime 2010 forum badges

The final design of the badge has now been determined. You can see it by clicking on the spoiler button below:

Distribution will be via unofficial social events such as the WCTT, CST and the Pre PAX Dinner or from the BYOC registration desk at PAX itself.

The names on the back of the badge have not as yet been collated but will be towards the end of July. To get your name on the badge you have to participate in this thread, be an admin of the forums or take part in one of the unofficial social events that has badge distribution associated with it.

    I would say 1 or 3. I don't mind the PAX logo over the Penny Arcade logo, just seems to me like 1 is a little empty. Perhaps both logos could be used but I'm not sure how well that would work.

    Good work so far, I'll be excited to get my 4th forum badge and 6th PAX badge this year.

    No love for the lens flare then? I did it to really mark it out from the PAX East badges, but I can see that it would be construed as a little too much!

    I'll need to get clearance on the use of the PAX logo. It got me into trouble back in 2008 with Mr Khoo, so I'll have to clear it with him and/or his subordinates before we can use it. Otherwise we'll go with 4. Thanks for the feedback everyone.

    Yea 1 looks the best for sure, but definately get clearance first. Khoo is usually pretty good about community stuff, so there shouldn't be any major issues.

    I'm torn between 1 and 4.

    I really want to like 3, but the lens flare is just distracting to me.

    Yeah I've learned in the past that a lens flare is usually less cool than you originally think.

    Also, Khoo usually is cool about things like this, but don't think that means he will allow the use of the PAX logo. I only say that because he told my team we couldn't use it. That's why I'm glad you're going to ask before making anything final.

    So I'll actually detail my opinion a bit more: 1 is good and seems to be the favorite. I'm also fine with 3, minus the lens flare. I won't choose 4 or 5 because I personally don't like the swirling background. And the only thing I would want different from the others is the removal of the red parts of the background. I just think it stands out a bit much and should be all blue to retain the Prime feel.

    But that's my opinion. I will be happy with whatever I end up with when they're done.

    I like #5 but I feel that it needs the lens flare like #2. Swirly background is nice but it is missing that small little bit.

    If you cannot use the logo, I'd go with #3. The lens flare does not work as well with the PA logo in my opinion.

    Also, we going to have names on the back again cause that was cool.

    I vote for #3 minus lens flare - I like having the PA logo AND the pax logo on the same badge (which you can't see with the vortex ones) but dislike lens flare.

    Im down for round two of badges!

    I also like the Penny Arcade one Sans lens flare, because since it says PAX forums, I feel that PAX Pax forums is redundant.

    Just no love for the lens flare. Difference clouds are fine, but lens flare? Nah uh! I'll contact Mr Khoo about no. 1 badge design. If he says no, No. 4 is the one we'll use.
