I finished Cross of Iron last night. It isn't great. I love James Coburn to death, but the battle scenes are all chopped together and don't make a whole lot of sense and it's got like two or three climaxes.

I saw The Front this morning and thought it was really good

really I just want the opportunity in my life to tell a congressional committee on unamerican practices

    (movie ending line spoilers)
"Fellas... I don't recognize the right of this committee to ask me these kind of questions. And furthermore, you can all go fuck yourselves. "

I've had Fight Club sittin here for a week and I haven't got around to watch it. I have never seen the whole thing through and thought I should but ehhh

Watch it, then identify with it, then start saying "Tyler Durden was right" all the time, then become one of those guys, then get hit by a bus.

    Perfect solution.

So this is what I hear every time Fight Club is mentioned and shit. There was a fucking fighting video game based on it. Why?

Yeah I knew it was supposed to be mind fuck movie but what the hell is it with it becoming a bro or douchebag movie?

It was pretty interesting and I guess I liked it since it wasn't what I was really expecting. There was quite a lot of things going on.

Anyways I feel like a bad neighbor cause man did that car crash sound really awesome in the HD audio.

The Princess Bride is also one of the movie>book.

And for Palahniuk, I liked Lullaby more then any of this other books. But I notice nearly all of my friends like whichever of his books they read first the most. I fall into this category as well.

    oh for fuck's sake

so, in the second week of my cinema studies course we watch this experimental french film called La Jetee, which is about time travel fuckery and ends with a pretty massive twist

I sit down to watch 12 Monkeys, see "inspired by La Jetee" in the credits in the first three minutes, and I'm immediately able to work out the entire plot

One of these days I plan to buy House of Leaves for an unsuspecting friend.

I usually finish books, and that is one book i could not finish. I made it through the regular story, then all of that journal mess afterwords just lost me. I still cannot figure out if i am supposed to like that book, hate it, be scared, or what. In the end i liked the house parts but i feel like i missed the bigger picture.

Also Fight Club is really good, the fact that people still go full douchebag on it kinda proves it. The commentary about how the actors feel about those sorts is pretty funny. Although if i ever somehow wind up running into Norton in the streets i do want to say "great movie, sir" just to see if he get angry or laughs.

Hey, Walkabout is now on instant streaming.

Yeah I don't know what the camps are now on Fight Club. The movie was cool but I doubt I'd ever want to watch it again so hurray for Netflix.

Fun fact: In Thailand I would introduce myself as Edward Norton.

The problem with how people take Fight Club is that even though the movie is making fun of Tyler Durden's dumb bullshit ideas
The book is completely serious about them
So , it's easy to see how that still bleeds out of the movie
    Kind of like Starship Troopers
But more so because less people are stupid enough to take Starship Troopers seriously

Not going to lie, I like the book Princess Bride more than the movie. They're both awesome, but the book has a few parts the movie doesn't that are awesome, and yet it doesn't lose the overall feel of the movie. (well, technically, vis-versa.)

Been whittling through my Instant Netflix queue.

Down Periscope is far too enjoyable for a movie that is essentially just to whore out Kelsey Grammer's 15 minutes of fame. It's supposed to be shitty and awful, like every Tim Allen movie I've seen! But in actuality, it's just as funny as I remember when watching it like a decade and a half ago. More probably, since I get most of the jokes now.

Peggy Sue Got Married was pretty dang good. Interesting feel-good movie with a slight twist that turned out pretty well.

I think Dionaea House did the same concept as House of Leaves better. In a different medium, but since House is supposed to be a collection of journals, it's not that different.

The movie is now apparently called "The Occupants".
