Gary if you can make your internet stop being fucked we definitely need to follow through with the collab idea.

In the meantime we could just upload portions for the other person to download.

On the other hand, LBP2 dropping this year is cooling my enthusiasm for LBP1 quickly. Why bother pulling my hair out with complicated logic mechanisms when later this year I can just use a circuit board?

I started making something this afternoon, doing stuff that seems cool with fire and water.

There's a switch that you grab, which raises the water table just high enough to douse the fiery floor, revealing it to be made of dissolve material. This water rise triggers a water switch that lowers the water back down, and also triggers the appearance of a button that will make the floor dissolve, revealing the way.

you can change those settings in every level you build, to my understanding

I just realized that right at the start of a level you can have Sackboy go off screen and get in a direct control seat wired to a robot. And that alone lets you do so much.

You can force people to have costumes that are appropriate to your level
You can decide what's lethal and what's not, as well as give him HP.
You can deactivate the control seat at any point that you want the player to just stand still, or if you want a cutscene

Also if anything I don't think the controls are floaty enough. Sackboy can barely jump his own height. Mario, Sonic, and Mega Man can all jump multiple times that.

More precision with horizontal movement would be nice though.

The fact that those screens have differently sized hearts on them says to me that it's not just a "heart screen" object but an honest to god LED screen that you can have display whatever you want.

Which means that in addition to everything else, LBP now has all the fun of Lite Brite.
