I hope they keep LaPierre, oh god I love that grin he affects when he starts shit talking
There is something about it that just makes me grin along with the jackass... I mean, so far he's just been sort of silly about it and I've yelled a bit at the TV at him... but that damnable grin!
Granted headshots are more serious because of the injury/health part, but the entirety of officiating throughout the playoffs has been horrendous. The sheer number of calls and the fact we're now hovering dangerously close to diving becoming an acceptable practice is frightening.
The Malkin-Mitchell shot occurred in January, current playoff officiating (or lack thereof) is irrelevant.
Mitchell is just pissed off that he didn't get a chance to play when it mattered.... I don't blame him.
Willie Mitchel is not impressed with the NHL's handling of headshots.
"I am disappointed in the league, I'm disappointed in Colin Campbell," Mitchell said. "I am disappointed he didn't rule down anything on the play. That's his job. As we've seen, he's been very inconsistent in how he's handled himself in those situations. I think a lot of times he hands down suspensions and fines on results.
"I think that's the wrong thing to do.
"You rob a bank and there's $50 million dollars in there and you rob a bank and there's $5 in there, you're going to jail for the same amount of time."
I love how the man might be facing the end of his career due to this incident, and has (tamely) spoken out against the handling of the incident, and all the discussion I've read around this can do is scream "M0R CANUCKS WHINERING!!!"
Philly wasn't a better team that the Bruins going into the series, but losing Stuart and Kreicji to serious injuries while the Flyers got back Gagne and one other guy is what swung's the momentum of the series.
Rask is still playing on the same level as Halak, but his defense and offense is collapsing around him.
It's a shame there isn't a playoffs equivalent for the Calder trophy so that Subban could really live the dream. Man imagine if Montreal wins the cup, "Oh hey welcome to the NHL and by the way here's your Stanley Cup"

Darren Helm's been there. Almost won two Cups as an every day contributor in the playoffs before he scored a regular season goal.

Self-righteousness is incompatible with coalition building.

Didn't play enough regular season games to get his name on the cup, though.
IIRC.

According to NHL.com
To have one's name engraved on the Stanley Cup certain requirements must be met. A player must have at least 41 games played with the club or one game played in the Stanley Cup Finals. However, in 1994 a stipulation was added to allow a team to petition the Commissioner for permission to have players' names put on the Cup if extenuating circumstances prevented them from being available to play.

Maybe Staal wants to play for a Canadian team, that would be a good trade

and by love, I mean horrified.
I don't know why I subject myself to reading it.
I love that in the West it's 1,2 and in the East it's (maybe) 7,8.
I'd love for West #1 to meet East #8. :P
Plus that way either way I'd be happy with the winner. I'm currently living very near San Jose so I can bandwagon with them, and Montreal is Canadian!
He's coming for you all!

Fucking Chris Pronger
I love the way the French-language announcers call them, "Les Broons".

I also think Philly's a better team than Boston, so Montreal should face Boston!.

Ahahahahahahahahahahahahah.
Ha.
Good one.
The NHL already has a "History will be made" commercial featuring this year's Canadiens: "What if Camallerri didn't hit a home run?"

For the record I thought you were right Burtle.
The joke someone on SA made was much better: What if the Expos could have hit this well?
They've done a few of them featuring stuff from this years playoffs I think. I don't like them, at all.
Edit: And it kills Boston!
