There are some biblical accounts of God destroying angels for singing out of tune.
If poorly performed music all it takes, Trent is in trouble.
If Trent Reznor smokes a blunt on a full moon, does it make him slightly sharper?
If you don't believe me that a full moon can sharpen a blunt razor, try it yourself. In the mean time, try not to use your ignorance to poke fun at me. It's not becoming.
You know I've never really liked Trent Reznor's singing.
The songs he's composed and shit, those are good. But Trent himself has an awful voice. People talk about how whiny he sounds on Hurt, but really he sounds like a whiny goth teenager on everything because that is how Trent Reznor sounds.
Trent's like, 45, but no matter how hard he tries he still sounds like he's a 16 year old boy in black eye make-up drawing demons on his binder.
Nowadays, Trent looks like this:
But he still sounds like this:
The best NIN songs were the ones Trent didn't sing on.
The live one? There was an old bootleg floating around in the tape trading days of that whole show made from the original tracking that's higher quality than the video recording.

How has no one posted this video yet? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-hF2wdfnnk
I think The Fragile is the best album Nine Inch Nails put out. It wasn't as raw as their earlier stuff, but it also wasn't as lame as the later stuff.
Pretty stoked for this; I actually happened to be listening to Ghosts I-IV when I clicked on the thread (and for the record, I also thought this was going to be about Bayonetta).
I really had no interest in NIN until The Fragile - prior to that my primary introduction to the band was via douchebag classmates who would answer 'Nine Inch Nails is god!' to math questions. That kept me from listening to them for at least 4 years. Since then, though I've picked up almost the full catalog, excepting the various albumns that are remixes by other artists, and, for some reason, Pretty Hate Machine. Should probably pick that up at some point.
I think someone mentioned it before, but Still is a really, really good album. Much more in-line with the softer stuff from The Fragile than any of Reznor's other work. Well worth picking up even if you aren't a big fan, imo.
Also, you can pick up a remastered version of The Downward Spiral that includes SACD 5.1 surround - it sounds excellent, if you have the setup for it (though of course the overall disc sounds a bit dated at this point).

The NIN remixes from Fixed through Perfect Drug are pretty fucking solid. Some of those discs blow away album tracks.

I'm pretty sad I never got around to seeing NIN live.
I wouldn't put it past Reznor to bring it back down the road, but I would've loved to see songs like Wish live.

That is a bootleg that I must obtain.
Is there a commercially available version?
The audio from the video mix was on a few things, but I don't know which if any are still in print. I know for a fact the same version is on the UK release of Further Down the Spiral(which, incidentally, is better than the American release), but I wouldn't be surprised if that is out of print. I think it was also part of the Downward Spiral re-releases which I don't have, but I suspect are still in production. Wikipedia says there was a single release by Interscope that featured it, but I don't think any of the old singles are still in print.

My initial post was on topic. If you really like, i'll dig out my bible and find the passage i mentioned.
Don't blame me for the way that other people treat me. I didn't bring up how intelligent and handsome i am.
oh thank god i wasn't the only one who thought of this
i feel validated
Actually, there's no keyboard on the unit, and based on the facade, I guess it might be a custom instrument.
my father was famous
he was the greatest samurai in the empire
Maandig
he was the shogun's decapitator
he cut off the heads of a hundred and thirty one lords
it was a bad time for the empire
Oh dear.
There's no way for me to go "You fucking nerd" without also admitting I understand the reference.
What a conundrum.

More or less.
MAYBE THAT WAS THE PROBLEM.

I still prefer the video version the best.
