I actually don't think he meant it that way. I don't think he meant it's the only thing that can make him happy. Just something that would make him happy unconditionally.

    Still though, fuck kids.

Having a kid absolutely will not make you unconditionally happy. Children will go out of their way to make your life miserable, and you will most certainly be miserable at times. There will very much be conditions on your happiness.

Here is a list of questions

    What makes an object beautiful?

No idea on this one, hoss. I just know I find certain things beautiful.

What do you aspire to? Why?

I want to be a writer. It makes me happy. Same thing with being an actor.

Do you believe in something beyond naked empiricism?

Ha! Naked! I have no idea what this means.

What is the most defining characteristic of yourself? Why?

My defining characteristic is sarcastic cynicism, because I grew up fat.

Is morality simple or complex? Why?
Morality is complex because morality is a societal construct. Things are only inherently wrong because we as a culture decided they are, like smokin dat reefer son. Or gay sex!

    How do you perceive yourself?
    Poorly.

Do you feel in control of your life? Why or why not?
Not in control, precisely, but I do take responsibility for my choices and whatnot.

What makes a sound beautiful or ugly?

I have trouble thinking of an ugly sound... I hate the sound of a marker on paper. I'm not sure why. Then you have things like vocal harmonies and whatnot that just kind of vibrate nicely in your ear and chest.

Is law a decent facsimile of morality? Why?

Eeeeehhh... kind of? Like I said, morals are a societal, cultural construct that are not necessarily universally
true or accepted, and laws enforcing these morals on people who don't necessarily hold the morals in question, such as the example of marijuana laws, seem fuckin dumb.

    What makes something significant?

We make things significant because we can't stand to think that we are insignificant, and the thing about that is that we are totally insignificant to the grander scheme of things. The earth could be hit by a meteor the size of the fucking moon and the universe would not miss us at all. So we, as people, live very insular, guarded lives where we decide what's important and what isn't.

Is your existence good? Why or why not?

I'd say good, if not simply for the fact that I make my mom and family happy. Other than that, I am a waste of carbon.

    What makes an object beautiful?

Aesthetic value, an appeal to even my base emotions and resonance that speaks to the collected experiences one has in a lifetime to the present.

What do you aspire to? Why?

I resolve to succeed, create, and to spite others; both to fulfill sacrifices made for me and to sustain a need to make things. Some people are content financially, and that's cool. I'm all for doing the dangerous route of trying to make it in life sharin' stories, experiences and taking in the experiences of others too. I am also a petty asshole, and want to succeed where others could only speak in a wishful tone. In the long run, failure is likely and it'll be for naught. Fuck it, though.

Do you believe in something beyond naked empiricism?

I believe in dissenting, and making your will manifest.

What is the most defining characteristic of yourself? Why?

Taking a shitty hand and working it to the best of my ability. Most of my life, felt like that which I was deprived of would define my life. No sex, no real sincere friends and no attempts to become a functioning adult due to a lack of a rite of passage in my teens.

Looked at how often it had happened to others in the rural midwest, and in Michigan (this goddamn shithole) and took every chance I could to rise above it. So for two years I did just that. I sought to get out there, out of my comfort zone and thrive to the best of my ability. I did, got my ass kicked by circumstance and I'm back in this fucking pit, but not for long!

Is morality simple or complex? Why?

Morality is simple. Situations aren't! Why?Your brain does not function like other people's brains, and the breakdown is individual levels of knowledge and a propensity to diverge, cut your own path.

    How do you perceive yourself?

Hypocrite sometimes. Want to write, or speak aloud and have cats listen. Generally a dude who wants civility, wants to be lazy, wants fine bitches, some nice weed, enjoyable reading and comfort.

Do you feel in control of your life? Why or why not?

Making calculated decisions. Beyond that, it's a fucking crapshoot. See above on brains. (Not like, getting head.)

What makes a sound beautiful or ugly?
Sound in relation to beauty seems to be some shit full of subtext. Beauty equates to something like feminine qualities, whereas ugly qualities seem to be associated with guttural, base and male qualities. Though, that's through the lens of somebody in this day and age. Classical music, that's a male game, isn't it?

Is law a decent facsimile of morality? Why?

Subjectively, yes and no. A bad law can be the product of a bad person. Or a real shitheel can put out a good one. I guess I take issue with laws of deprivation with no threat to a greater good outside a change to the status quo. Nobody wants to swim in a pool of unnormalized shit they ain't had the constant exposure to. A dude ain't gonna see an action movie where they got a hard drinkin' gay man chasin' dick and nabbing the bad guy for some time. Or a flick wherin a cat smoking weed isn't an idiotic fuckhead.

    What makes something significant?

Something that imparts a personal sense of bein' blown out of the water, and crazily enough others feel the same way. If they do not, fuck it man it did something for you.

Is your existence good? Why or why not?

Sure, I guess! I mean, my way of living has kicked my ass so far but it's the only way I even feel comfortable in my skin most days. Even when I get to the point of self hate, there's a feeling of wanting to overcome that and get to a better point instead of being stuck on the superficial or measuring my life by others. Cuttin' through the crap and contradictions and just living to put myself through another round of whatever I should come upon.

    What makes an object beautiful?
Recognition of the object as beautiful by a person equipped with appropriate cognitive faculties for making aesthetic judgements.
What do you aspire to? Why?
Teaching; trying to pass on some of my own sense of wonder at the world to other people.
Do you believe in something beyond naked empiricism?
Yes, because empiricism cannot adequately deal with certain pieces of knowledge. I think the empiricist/rationalist debate has somewhat ran it's course, though. I don't think it makes sense to be either purely rationalist or purely empiricist.
Is morality simple or complex? Why?
It really depends what you're asking. You can probably describe it pretty easily, but its mechanisms are doubtlessly wildly complex.
    How do you perceive yourself?
    The perpetual third-rate, second-best.
Do you feel in control of your life? Why or why not?
In control and mostly wasting it.
What makes a sound beautiful or ugly?
Whether or not is it reported as being beautiful or ugly by a person equipped with relevant cognitive capacity.

    There I guess

well shoot, everyone's self conscious about something

but there comes a time in every man's life where he has to talk about something he loves

    no matter how lame

i mean, i walk into a store over here in bumfuck and mention a truck my dad owns there's a good chance it's an opportunity for 5 or hillbillies to give me a decalogue on how they love driving they trucks through the mud because it reminds them of playing with tonka toys or something like that
