Flash #2 was really good. Once again, its more of a light-hearted story. Much lighter than some of Johns' other work. I hope Francis Manapul stays on the book for a while too, like past the first arc. His art really brings the story to life.

Booster Gold #32 is another very good issue this week, and it is jam packed with story, it basically has more copy in it than Siege #4, Return of Bruce Wayne #1, and War of the Supermen #2 combined. But it's funny and sad and happy:
The little girl, Rani, is being set up to be Booster's little sister or adopted daughter, she's nice and sweet though.
Okay, I don't know where everyone stands on the ending of Siege and stuff, but nearly the entirety of the New Avengers Finale One-shot was not only the best comic of the week in my eyes, but the best comic of the year.
The team tracks down Hood and Masque to her father's (Count Neferia's) place, where they are hoping to buy superpowers for the once again powerless Hood. Ass-kickery ensues and we get a surprising treat with Wolverine returning to the team to slice up Nefaria something fierce. Ms. Marvel then zaps him and the team dumps Hood, Masque, and Nefaria at Maria Hill's feet. Then this happens:
Good question, what does it mean?
I haven't been this satisfied reading a comic in ages fellas. Ages. The Civil War is finally over for me. Shit, I'm in such a good mood right now, I won't even bitch about Iron Man being let on the new team.

If you can't beat them, arrange to have them beaten in your presence.
Deadpool Team-Up #893 was surprisingly awesome this week. As the writer was a total unknown to me, and I was mostly unfamiliar with the artist, I wasn't expecting much. What I got was a hilarious team-up between Deadpool and Captain Britain, revolving around both trying to confiscate a deceased supervillain's armory, before a poser supervillain can claim the goods for himself. And in the process, they accidentally swap cultural idioms and mores.
Later...
I also really enjoyed Luke Cage #2. Continuing the plotline from the previous issue, where Cage is trying to find who's responsible for injuring one of his friends, Cage finds himself up against an old enemy. The end result of that confrontation is that he winds up fighting giant jungle cats. Which isn't really something you see Cage do a whole lot of.
Usually I don't like it when an old, silly villain is re-purposed to be more modern, but this time it really worked for me. Primarily because the dude's still kind of fun and silly, just in a different way. He might not be wearing the goofy costume anymore, but he's still a guy that uses technology to force giant cats to do his bidding. Plus, he not lives inside a penthouse that's filled with animal-print sofas and assorted jungle-themed decorations.
Plus, it doesn't hurt that the art is really damn beautiful.
Siege #4 was a bunch of bullshit. There's my moment of the week.
The bitching thread is that way --->

Man, Vance's face in the second panel... DEERP~!
Anyway, I found a good motw in Ultimate Spidey #10, where the high school principal, who until now had struck me as someone who folds under pressure and perpetuates injustice, actually mans up and does something pretty awesome.
He resigns as principal at an assembly with all the parents after government agents try to arrest Kitty Pryde in the middle of class. He then bitches out the parents for allowing the world to fall apart the way it has.
Sometimes when there's a problem, the only right thing you can do is refuse to be a part of it.
Also, I think Aunt May might become the new principal.
It's amazing how consistantly good Ultimate Spider-Man has been. Really Bendis should stop with his big event and focus on the Spidey type stuff because that is where he's by better by a long way.
I just wish I didn't look at Booster and Tigra's new kids and get an immediate sense of dread.
What, it's not like JT Krul or Geoff Johns is going to be near Booster Gold anytime soon. See little Rani running though Star City's forest to avoid gang members.......this is doesn't seem like it would be implausible these days.
Edit: Apparently "Sought fit" is used as well. That's stupid.
That's why I was wondering - I would use 'sought' rather than 'saw'. Pip pip!
Even more interesting, sought is the past participle (completed action in time) of seek... or you could say seeked, and sound stupid. God, this is why people have trouble learning our language.

"Sought fit?" Wow, that is not at all the way I thought that was spelled.

I was also directed to a new, hilarious webcomic today: Manly Guys Doing Manly Things.

And finally, the best page of the week:
Danny quit after the second showdown with the Hood's gang, plus I didn't see him anywhere during Siege. Guy's streets behind anyhow.
It resolves Osborn pretty nicely, and also what happens to Hand.
Awwwwwww.

I really dig that art, when did all these artists pop up at Marvel?
With the power to turn from a tiger . . . into a leopard!

Um?
It's "saw fit", not "sought fit"

Yes we are! Bully for you!
:edit: And just so thinks aren't lost on the internet, I'm not being sarcastic. And "Bully for you" is my phrase of the week.

Pretty much all of USM was awesome though. So freaking great.

Well really the whole book.
But especially the memo.
