scott I don't think you know 80's action the way I know 80's action
it is the thing I know most about
I know more about 80's action than the history channel knows about world war 2
You're Eighty's-Fu is no doubt stronger than mine.
But you need a better comparison. The History Channel knows WWII like Chuck Norris knows how to cry. I see more sensational bullshit and less actual history on the HC every year.
Reasoning with TLB is like trying to reason with a ferocious, rabid lion. You can try and try but ultimately someones going to end up sexually violated and eaten.

The closest we're going to get to that from this forum is Dr. Dinosaur in an Emmett Brown wig, mumbling something about how some pitiful ape science hair-hat isn't fit to encapsulate his magnificent brain.
EDIT: Which I, in case it wasn't clear, would enjoy just fine.
You know, i'd actually read that, seeing as doc emmett brown is my dogg yo. And seagal needs to be further down the list, i cant think of a franchise for him. And three great films? really? And possibly an honerable mention to Michael Beihn... cos i love aliens and terminator.
Scott man, I want in on comics. I can be your creative director (catchy huh). TLB can be hired later on... maybe. I gots me a degree in business and I own at least one whole suit.
I agree with Paxton's sidekick status and they didnt get the giant black man to play Preds for the second film, so it could well have been a girl. An ugly, ugly girl. As for Sir Seagal, Under Siege 2, the train one? I think not. And none of those are film franchises.

Actually, we have a huge 1980's Atomic Robo story planned. It's very much in the vein of what we are talking about here, except it's TV-focussed, rather than movies. So A-Team, Fall Guy, Magnum P.I., MacGyver, etc.
I think that's Volume 8, or maybe Volume 11. I don't have the schedule handy.

Sha-weeeet! McGuyver and Robo side by side may rival Carl Sagan and Robo. Also glad to see the series is forseen to last 11 volumes and more.

you need to somehow get a Hart to Hart reference in there
No respect for Biehn? He was in two of the biggest franchises ever.
I love Biehn
But he never came back for the sequels to either franchise so he ain't got the staying power!
To be fair, he died in Terminator (so did Arnold, but the Kyle Reese character didn't have a convenient double to step in for the sequel). And not being in Alien3 is a point in his column, as far as I'm concerned.

Peter Weller as Buckaroo Banzai could kill every 80's action hero without breaking a sweat.
He'd use SCIENCE!

Robos, whenever I see your av, my first thought is Worf.
Buckaroo Banzai would never be able to stop John Matrix or Paul Kersey
they defy science
it is a sci fi movie
so it don't count
But it is a direct inspiration for Atomic Robo. And Robo is full of Action. So BB is retconned to also be an action sci-fi flick.

I wish this would happen.

He lost granted but still.
Huh... never actually realised he did that. Paxton just went up a little in my books. Not much, maybe a single notch. But hey, hes now at notch one.
Gonna retcon your retcon.
Buckaroo Banzai is now a romcom because Jeff Goldblum was in Earth Girls are Easy and that is totally the most romantic movie ever made.
(this also makes Death Wish a romantic comedy, and I am okay with that)
as for Biehn, Paxton, and anyone else you can throw at me:
no one gets an honorable mention on my list
and seagal had a string of great late 80's action movies:
Above the Law
Hard to Kill
Under Siege/Under Siege 2
Out for Justice
as for Bill Paxton, he will make the list of greatest sidekicks, along with Reginald Vel Johnson
he is up there with the best 80's action sidekicks
but he can't get any points for Predator 2
That Predator clearly was awful.
And probably a girl.

I take issue with the comedy in True Lies being called "unintentional."
because it is not about stallone

He just doesn't fit my rigid standards
He is on a special list of flashes in the pan
with Roddy Piper
You love Navy Seals. Biehn, Sheen, Paxton and DAVID PALMER, THE BEST PRESIDENT THIS COUNTRY HAS EVER SEEN.
