I wonder why FF11 screenshots always look so washed out. It's like there are no true blacks or any sort of real contrast. Do people just play the game with brightness/gamma maxed out?

The areas I played in my trial all looked washed out like that.
Bear in mind the games like ten years old or something now.

It is the technique it uses for screen shots that does it. The colors look much better in game. I'll see if I can get a comparison set up later with different techniques for making the screen shot.

I can't take a kosher screen shot. I can't start the client normally right now. My install is borked in a peculiar way which is requiring me to use the windower.
