Update: If you want to talk about the events of a conference AFTER it's happened so we don't get people talking about previous conferences while a current one is going, you can
go to this thread.
It's that time of year again, and time for the traditional E3 Keynote thread. I'm assuming the mods have the same rule as last year
- We're only going to have one thread. Don't worry about making another one.
My suggestions for this year to keep things speedy:
- No gigantic GIF posting inline; please link
- No Youtube embedding (save that for the specific game threads)
I will attempt to transcribe the keynote into the IRC room as usual, but as usual if you want to do so yourself you are welcome to attempt it.

G4TV.com claims to be streaming most of them.
http://www.youtube.com/e3 <-- Youtube streaming. Not sure if it's actually going to use YT's servers or IGN's...
http://e3.nintendo.com/ <-- Nintendo's site for streaming their conference.

It was glorious.
It's the only reason to ever watch either of these channels!!
Nobody is airing Konami's conference? That's the one I want to see goddamn it, there's a Castlevania: LoS trailer ready to go for that!
If there's anything even half as amazing this will be one heck of an E3

Oh and for the conference times, linking to these would be awesome:
Microsoft's, Nintendo's and Sony's.
Anyway, I'm really looking forward to stuff but I'm already anticipating disappointment.

Two drinks every time a celebrity appears on stage. An extra drink if the celebrity has very little to do with gaming or geek culture. (For instance, The Beatles last year would be two each. Justin Bieber would be three. Actually, Justin Bieber would be four, just because he's a special case.)
Two drinks if new piece of hardware is officially announced. One drink whenever a release date is mentioned for anything.
This is going to be fun.

Really?
I'm trying to imagine what was exciting about it.
"Here you are ladies and gentlemen, here it is, the big secret... It's the controller you were using before!!!!" *Woooo!! Wooooooooooo!!!*
You kinda need to list the big three and then the other ones. Though maybe there should be a second chronological list at the bottom.
It was the last minute reveal of motion control that killed it for everyone
People were flipping the fuck out over how stupid it was

And by fun, you mean induce alcohol poisoning.
Which is of course probably more fun then half the shit they show at E3.
They should change it to Exxxtreme Dew Chugging Gamer.
Oh yeah. I didn't pay much attention that year. I keep thinking that something similar will happen this year. When the 3DS was announced I imagined everyone at Sony running around like headless chickens and then someone shouts "Quick!!! Get those plans for the PSP2 that we wasn't going to announce for six more months! It's now our E3 centre piece!!!"

That was the worst thing ever. If I had a gun I would have shot somebody over that.

If I remember correctly the big 3 companies usually hold their speeches before the actual expo.
I poked around a bit but couldn't find it.
I came here to ask if Iwata would be there, and if he'd be taking a bow.
I do look forward to seeing more info about the new Castlevania, though. Really hoping it turns out well.

Then again, I guess I don't really have to worry about the possibility of a James Cameron repeat. I'm kind of on board with this now.
Also, I'm just gonna leave these here:
All right, people. It is not a gerbil. It is not a hamster. It is not a guinea pig. It is a death rabbit. Death. Rabbit. Say it with me, now.
Spike is owned by Viacom, who owns MTV, the partners in the Microsoft briefing this year.
Alternatively, developers could just map that to a button. Then they'd be able to pull that off without wasting quite a bit of processing power for what would be a pretty trivial addition and require you to take your hand off the controller to do it.
Told Fyre about the GT Streams, he'll add them when he's done with our Bingo cards.
Edit: Re NATAL: The big thing is Sunday, with a repeat performance Monday evening. I guess no one can broadcast the natal thing until after monday's presser?
To 'a' button? I think you're a little simple.
