Helloween, because you missed it at the start of the Lost City:

The things that Bourbon calls "bitches" are specifically those flying guys. Though, he calls everything "bitches", so their real name (demons) is a bit more precise.

I suggest you call them demon-demons, in order to avoid confusion with the rat-demons and variousother-demons.

    I vote he calls them....

Oh good lord! I can't watch this, yet I can't not watch this. It's like a trainwreck in motion, knowing Helloween's playing style. The scavenger in me weeps. :P

It's a good game though, I should finish it before Hell gets where I am now.

See this? This is what I'm worried about. The game has some wonky mechanics when it comes to aiming and damage on the pc, so I've ended up using a lot of bullets to some smaller enemies. And I'm a compulsive hoarder, so I'm interested to see how he'll handle those parts.

And, incidentally, I think Helloween has at least two of those at the moment, so he should probably try hitting 1 again while using the regular knife to switch.

Edit: also worth pointing out that the Metro 2033 mappers think it's really funny to put ammo behind you after load screens.

    I just noticed this myself.

Just found time to watch the latest set. I find it funny that they put the caches full of bullets and other supplies in hard to find locations a lot of the time, traps and demons aside, and then your expected to use bullets as currency as well even though your already low on them from having to use them to try and not die.
Realistic? Yes. Practical in the game, not so much.

Still, I can't wait to see what Helloween comes up with when he inevitably runs out of bullets and has to resort to a good old fashioned knifing.

    Hide it under the floorboards!

    And re-enact The Tell-Tale Heart.

edit: just watched it you terrible terrible person

moar edit: you shot him in the headlight

even moar edit: throwing knives insta-kill if you hit them anywhere above the lower torso, I think

final edit: considering your playing style, you're probably going to want some stronger armor later, as opposed to stealthier

Haha, good set. I'm almost wanting to record a quick stealth runthrough actually, since that bit's quite fun.

Also, the stoner guy? His automatic shotgun had a bayonette attachment. But we'll excuse that since it's utterly useless anyway.

Oh, and the first failure was due to the revolver's horrific inaccuracy. It's so awful!

He did hit him, but only in the headlight. You can see it go out/break when he shoots. Also, I don't believe I've ever encountered that stoner guy.

At the end when Artyom is talking about sensing someone helping him out, if you do try to stealth that area you will sometimes see enemies get killed by mysterious arrows from nowhere. That would be Khan in the vents shooting guys you're trying to kill. It only works if you don't alert enemies by shooting them in the helmet or headlights, though.

Also, if you keep an eye out you will occasionally notice sparks coming off of enemies when you hit them. Every time you see sparks, it means your hitting armor instead of fleshy parts. So if a guy has a helmet or something metal on his head, hitting it will just alert him. Body armor, knee pads, metal boots, etc, will all deflect or stop bullets at least sometimes. Armor isn't actually decoration in Metro 2033, it really works and can be a real pain if you don't see it.

The VSV is the precision weapon of choice. You get more ammunition for it, and the damage to ammunition expended ratio is nicely stacked on the damage side. It's also silent and you get a laser dot!

It was a scripted event so I doubt it. Besides, he got himself shot by not pulling the damn trigger fast enough when he had the chance.

I really do like how the armor was handled- I recently noticed that I could see a guy's neck through one tiny little gap, and I managed to kill him through it. I might've even heard the bullet ricochet inside his helmet.

    Enjoying the new set!
