You can grab nightvision at the start of that level anyway, just by backtracking to those two guys Helloween decided against killing and opening an orange box with NV goggles in it.

He should probably double back and do this if, for no other reason, then to allow us to see something other then pitch black with dots of light. It'll let him see better too even if he isn't going stealth.

He wouldn't have to. Like I said, it comes automatic with the stealth suit.

Man, to think I'd totally written this game off after reading about it when it was released. After watching Helloween play it, I'm thinking it looks quite awesome.

Of course, it helps to be watching Helloween playing it... he's made some truly awful games entertaining, if only because I enjoy watching his pain strewn across the screen.

Still, I'm really impressed with the game after watching this. Not to where I'd likely buy it since I'm pretty much getting the entire story in this LP, but still. Maybe I'll buy the next one. :P

True. My thought is that, since the VSV is dead accurate, it's great for shooting Nazis and Commies in the region above the neck and thus extra relevant to this chapter. Plus, I think you only get the non-scoped version eventually, though I could certainly be wrong.

That's what I meant. I was under the impression he doesn't have NVG on the stealth suit because he briefly tried the N key at the prompt and nothing happened.

Stealthsuit comes with NVG but Helloween has been yet again deceived by the games cunning tactic of having you hold a key rather than press it.

If you already have either armor the vendor doesn't have the armor. But if you don't have anything and are still running around in rags he can be found to the immediate right of the door you come in and is sitting on the floor with a few guns to sell as well.

Alas, you've been using that silly shotgun. If you would have just put it down you could have sold enough shotgun shells at armory to buy the suit, the vsv, the hellsing, and a fully stocked pistol; provided you have the nearest upgrades.

Here and here are those mp4 links someone wanted.

By the way, Helloween, what format do your videos end up in? I've noticed that .avi is about three times the size but tends to not smear everything into darkness like .mp4 does.

The Hellsing's main advantages are recoverable ammo and silence. It's comparable to the Tihar in power when both are pumped up. I think the only weapons that can outdo the pneumatic weapons in single-shot damage are the shotguns, and even then only at close range.

Wow, that was lucky. I check YouTube this morning and I'm all hey a new set is up.

Yeah, the reason why they keep realizing you're at the top of the staircase is because there's some shattered glass to the right of the door. Remember how Bourbon taught you about those? If they don't know you're there, most of them run past in order to get to the front line of the battle. But if you DO get noticed there, you end up in a firefight which alerts the motorcar, which in turn alerts the other Nazis in the rear tunnel, and so on.

Loved the sprint for freedom, only to get cut down by a motorcar.

    Like the "roller-coaster ride" :P

Also, don't worry bout stealth. I didn't even notice the traps at the bottom of the cave... Got as far as you did tough.
Also, at least the game didn't bug at you at the top of those stairs you spent most of this set at... It saved for me a couple seconds after an enemy threw a grenade I didn't notice, so that 1 second after reloading it blew on my face... That is, EVERYTIME I reloaded >_<

Actually, I think he was really rather unfortunate in that it autosaved after they'd detected him. Otherwise, they just walk past, oblivious.

So, a couple of other pointers. You can practically spam grenades in the human-enemy areas given how many enemies carry them.

You can tell when you have military grade ammo in your weapon because it has a glow around the rim. You switch between military grade cartridges and normal ones by holding R on the weapon.

Oh, and finally, for the next set; start by going back through the door to where the Nazis grabbed you. Free ammo!

    Good set all around really!

Ahaha, sorry to say that but I had to laugh at the part where you just stand in front of the debris, complaining about how dark it is. I was thinking to myself "Wait, isn't he facing a wall?" and then you take the goggles off and turn the light on. :P

I would like to pause for a moment, to talk about my penis.
My penis is like a toddler. A toddler—who is a perfectly normal size for his age—on a long road trip to what he thinks is Disney World. My penis is excited because he hasn’t been to Disney World in a long, long time, but remembers a time when he used to go every day. So now the penis toddler is constantly fidgeting, whining “Are we there yet? Are we there yet? How about now? Now? How about... now?”
And Disney World is nowhere in sight.

I loved the immersive atmosphere of this game, but I hated the AI (especially concerning stealth) and the glitches. And the lack of information on the guns.

I enjoyed it and played it to completion, but I definitely had a few rage quits along the way.

The worst glitch I encountered was the first time I went to the surface with Bourbon. Toward the end there is a scripted scene where one of the demons (or "bitches" as Bourbon apparently calls them) drops down in an open area while Bourbon is hiding behind a bus, and then soon after you fight it. The first time I reached this area, I ran past Bourbon while he was waiting in the archway rather than talking to him, because I wanted to do some looting before triggering the scripted event. Then, later, once I greeted him and he ran and hid behind the bus, he delivered his usual line and we waited... and waited.... and waited... but no demon came. If I tried to go back down the stairs leading up to the bus, the demon would appear in the insta-kill-because-there-is-a-demon-here event. But it never came to the little open yard to progress the level, so I had to reset the game and play the level again from an earlier checkpoint.

Of course, this happened on my first playthrough, so I didn't know there was a glitch. I just thought I couldn't figure out how to advance, so I ran around like an idiot for twenty minutes before I tested the "maybe it's a glitch" hypothesis. D:
