the official FFT strategy guide was pretty sweet.
also it was pretty necessary to get all the hidden stuff, what with the lack of info on the internet back then.
There's a ridiculous amount of hidden extra stuff, all of which i missed out on because I got rid of that engineer dude

The most valuable strategy guide that I own is the one to Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen.
It had the most absurd bullshit required to get the best ending.

The best strategy guide I own is Nocturne's. 500 pages. It has a full fusion guide, all the dungeon maps, a complete bestiary, every skill and item listed.
The Versus guides were always pretty good. They had hand drawn maps and always had a pretty good sense of humor. In the RE2 guide there was feature about the different, unique ways you could biff it. In the MGS guide the entire back section was dedicated to showing the real world equivalent of the game's equipment and organizations (including Alaskan ear pulling).

what? you only played through the game once?
yeah, but to be fair it was only like a few months ago. There'll be more playthroughs in the future
I'm still waiting for Gamestop to get in a batch of the new 360's and call me. I put a deposit down on Saturday and am supposedly in the first group in line to get the new systems.

Mine just came in last night. I am totally blown away by how quiet it is. I can't hear it at all unless I put my ear right next to it.
I'm a little concerned though because it seems like it gets really hot really fast? Well, the area around the fan does at least. Maybe that's supposed to happen though and I'm just not used to having the vent in a location I can touch easily while it's running?

I think next time I play i'm doing it hard core. None of that reloading if i lose a major character shit.
The one thing i hate about FFT though is I can't exclude ramza from most (all?) fights. Just let him say a few words then let my real team take over, jeez.
Funny how guides cost more now, but they're hardly very useful. Doublejump's were the only ones worth $20.
The content of doublejump guides is solid gold. Good advice plus they're usually even pretty funny. But they were cheap as hell. A book would be falling apart days after you bought it.
I'm really disappointed that Valkyria Chronicles II is only coming out for the PSP. When I asked the SEGA rep. about it, he answered that it was because SEGA had to better control it's resources.

And it is indeed the bee's knees
Basically what was already said, the only downside is the slowdown which doesn't really bother me
But everything else about it, from the better translation to the beautiful cutscenes to Balthier, makes it so fantastic.

Because even with the internet those were pretty damn useful.

It's absolutely essential.
Disgaea's is also pretty sweet.

not sure if it's along with the DS version or replacing it
but I would much rather play it in 1080p than on the DS screen
It's their own fault, really. They publish great stuff, but their in-house credibility is shot.
trailer for the PS3 one
looks like it's coming out on both systems
also looks like it looks amazing on PS3
edit: ooo that game looks really nice.
Hahahahah, I love that the majority are to booth babes no less.
you know
parts of that look amazing
parts of it looks like...well, exactly like Dark Cloud (which isn't surprising in the least and probably more of a testament to Dark Cloud)
and then the battle scenes started and i lost all interest
i don't think Ghibli's worlds and stories would be well utilized with a more or less cookie-cutter JRPG
edit: but considering what DQ does to Japan, i'm sure it will sell like hot cakes
Man I hope Aliens: Colonial Marines still comes out. Haven't heard anything about it for over a year I think.
I didn't pay attention to anything other than the graphics
I still need to play Dark Cloud 2
Yeah this makes the E3 booth babe comic extra funny because I can put a cartoon face to these listings
