Enhancements are common in ME, especially in the military, but they're not usually the kind you could tell just by looking at a person. More like the kind that kills the glasses industry. Must suck for professional sports.

Shepard is full of cyborg goodness in ME2. He looks the same minus the scars(which can be removed).
I doubt enhancements like shepards have ever been done before.
You know
Considering the whole dead thing
Shepard was only mostly dead. There's a big difference between mostly dead and all dead.
We have several experts on the subject.
Besides all dead only happens if you're apart of a poorly picked squad assaulting a Reaper ship. Or you happen to disagree with your commander's decision to jeopardize the future of your entire infertile species. Or you're a racist xenophobe.
Getting blasted out into space for a year is cool though. Miranda says so.

Enhancements as drastic as Shepard's are super-expensive, and fixing her scars isn't cheap either. Saren didn't cover his up.
Does anybody know what Jack's yellow ear-thing is?
Is it her biotic amp? Maybe it's a bit bigger/little more obvious because she's a prodigal and thus needs something more heavy-duty in that department.
and before anyone says it, Yes amps usually go on the back of the neck, but they are key to use usually. Custom jobs like hers most likely can be installed elsewhere
I have a sickening feeling we're going to have to kill Ashley in ME3. Her reappearance on Horizon was too mysterious. How did she escape after being in the same area as all the other colonists? We never saw her actually get frozen. How did she reappear behind that wall, and only after the collectors left? Too much doesn't add up for it to just be a plot hole that would have been easy to fix.

The animation for when you go to talk to Kaiden in ME1 could be a lot shorter though.
Type type type. Pause. Look up. Turn sloooooooooooowly toward Shepard. Wipe brow.

Honestly, aside from the run where I was getting the "play through the majority of the game with ashley" achievement, Kaiden's always survived, simply because he's the one with bomb expertise, so I left him with the bomb, and I always keep my ass on the bomb to make sure that bitch goes off.

It was that somehow, from within the derelict-horror, they had learned a way to see inside an ugly, broken thing... And take away its pain.

It was a little disappointing that none of the major decisions in ME2 were anywhere near as difficult to make (at least in my case) as who to leave behind on Virmire.
The first time I did the Virmire thing, I was sad to leave one of them behind but it really wasn't much of a choice, to me. It was either run back and ensure that the bomb is not disabled, or go running off to some tower and leave the bomb unguarded. But the bomb is the entire point of the mission!
Kaiden happened to be with the bomb. Lucky Kaiden
I had much more trouble with the decision about the Rachni queen. Letting her go just seems so reckless, but killing her is brutal. Doesn't really make sense that I was the one making the decision, but there ya go.
God damnit Geth rifle replacing my Revenant and then me forgetting to re-replace the Geth Rifle with the Revenant.
...uh. Anyway. That made Garrus's loyalty much more difficult than it needed to be.
needs to be patched. nothing's worse than doing tali's recruitment WITH the locust and then suffering through the toughest firefights using the silly silly tempest.
if i start a mission with ONE weapon loadout, let me KEEP that regardless of what weapons i find.

It would still be nice if when you picked a new weapon up it just prompted you "Do you want to equip this now?"
I agree, this isn't borderlands or ME1 where they are just weapons all over. And with some weapons you amy not notice the change until it's too late, or forget to reapply your ammo power.
I think it was the Collector heavy weapon on Horizon where I first noticed this happened.
I thought I was pulling out the rocket launcher, and got a surprise. Fortunately, the particle beam thing is a really great weapon to use on Horizon.

I maintain that you should be able to kill BOTH of them on Vermire.
"That's right, keep the AA tower down Kaiden. And Ashely, guard the bomb while Garrus and everybody else makes for the hills. Nice knowin' ya!"
You know, thinking about it, my resentment of the game probably actually starts about 20 minutes in, where you have no choice but to listen and obey TIM when he says "Shepard, do everything"

I'm...fairly sure Shepard was entirely dead.

Shepard was fully dead, mostly dead was only what he told other people so they didnt go HOLY FUCKING HELL CYBORG ZOMBIE
I'm not sure what would have tipped them off.

Only if you go full retard.
You can also get the dermal regenerator and say goodbye to acne--but make sure you don't let Garrus use it.
Better question is why you killed off Kaiden?
I'm sure the way he posts is just reflection of his decision; I'd be bitter after making that choice.
He agrees with Ashley's struggle.
hey
my gayness for Kaidan is well-documented
I just couldn't bear typing "kill Kaidan"
I'd buy this.
And I purposely avoided any romance sidequests in ME2 so I wouldn't ruin my uber-paragon, one-woman-man shepard.
YEAH
NOW everybody jumps to defend Kaidan "The Face" Alenko

In fact, I'm pretty sure there's a weapons locker nearby every time you have the chance of getting a new weapon
