For some reason I decided to take a look at the new Sonic thread. People complain it's too much like the old games. Isn't that exactly why Zelda is popular?
It's also exactly why the newer Sonic games where they tried to "jazz them up" and try new things were terrible. So I'm not sure what they're complaining about. Probably they like to complain about things. Their hatred keeps them warm.
I find it really hard to get into the old sonic games. A lot of the archaic bits frustrate me more than the ones in, like, old mario. But maybe that is because I just played mario more as a kid.
i woke up and decided to reread the second chapter (because i don't feel like i retained it well)
Catelyn had been anointed with the seven oils and named in the rainbow of light that filled the sept of Riverrun. She was of the Faith, like her father and grandfather and his father before him. Her gods had names, and their faces were as familiar as the faces of her parents. Worship was a septon with a censer, the smell of incense, a seven-sided crystal alive with light, voices raised in song. The Tullys kept a godswood, as all the great houses did, but it was only a place to walk or read or lie in the sun. Worship was for the sept.
i am going to keep reading because lots of people with whom i share taste have recommended this series
but because of paragraphs like that, i'm fucking hating what i see so far

Sonic is never going to be good again. Sega forgot how to make them.

Homogeneous distribution of your varieties of amuse-gueule
Your musics is too smart for the rest of the company.
My roommate can not grasp the name of my instrument
He keeps coming up with "harmonica", which is quite obviously not right and frankly he should be able to figure at least that much out on his own
Oh wait, so you're playing an actual intrument?
What is it?
Is it a mouth harp or something?
...
I'm willing to bet it doesn't even go in your mouth...

The most amazing thing about Res' story in the Awesome Posts forum is that he's actually not in the army at all - he's actually just in a high school marching band!

That's really funny because I have a friend who was an 11B in the Army for awhile, and he was a Corpvet before then, and he told me that training for Corpvet's was tentimes more brutal then OSUT.
Dude was built like a brick shithouse too.

I was wondering about that as well. I bet they are very sturdy because you don't want to be found with your pants down taking a dump when the Big Bad Wolf tries to blow away your shithouse.

Ah, that series. Heard a lot about it but never read it myself. Too long for me to really be able to get myself interested in reading it.

I personally feel the first 2-3 chapters are a bit dull. It picks up quickly, 'Chu.

And your roommate is dumb as fuck. Here's to hoping you get some rank soon, because if everyone is as stupid as him then...wow
