Like most of you, I am super excited for PAX. Last year was my first and I must say, was an experience I will never forget. My friends from work and I made some great memories.
Anticipating PAX for this year has always been at a dull roar and started to become "real" when the passes went on sale back in April. My friends and I would make PAX references on a regular basis to keep the fire burning this whole time.
Like some of you (maybe), my life as a nerd/geek has been suppressed a bit after marriage. It's not that my wife doesn't appreciate that part of me, it's that our life together has different priorities and for me, it was hard to balance them all without repressing some of my own desires. Recently I have found that we both have been making more time for ourselves as individuals and this has let me go back to my "roots" by getting together with friends and doing some of the things I love. But one weekend a year (and possibly two next year!), I get to experience what has made me who I am inside so long ago. Penny Arcade Expo is that outlet, that escape, that necessity to remind me where I came from. I just wish I could have found it sooner.
All that being said, I wanted to say, PAX is here in just HOURS!!! LET THE NERD ORGY COMMENCE!

Last year was our first Pax to! It actually falls on my husband and my anniversary every year so as our present to eachother we've decided we'll go to pax!
last year was my first PAX, after I had been telling myself to GO ALREADY for about 3 years (the only thing holding me back is my lack of readership of PA)
I'm SOOOOOO glad I went to learn that it was about so much more than PA, and much more about nerd-dom in general.
This year, I'm actually very excited because I get to share this awesome experience with my Girlfriend, who decided to go of her own accord.
I had a dream last night that I went to pick up my Enforcer shirt, but they had four different colors, none of them said "ENFORCER," and they were made by Blizzard. I was like, "what the hell, I want my shirt! I can't work if I'm not in my shirt!" So I took a black one with blue trim, and then I couldn't find my satellite theater. It wasn't anywhere! So I was wandering around in this big auditorium looking for it, and all these people were in line, and I couldn't find anything.
So, yeah. The PAX dreams have started.

Last year was my first, but I went with a few friends from my City of Heroes supergroup. It was a blast, but I really kicked myself for not trying to interact more.
This year, I have a hotel room rather than crashing with a friend in Redmond. I'm going with the same group, but really looking to just break out of my shell and meet and interact.
All in all, I think this year is gonna be totally awesome. </AVPM>

Last year was our first PAX also, and I can fairly say I've started to bounce off the walls now that it's less than a month away.
Last year we just did the show, none of the community events or anything. This year: added a +1, doing the Triwizard, Buttoneering, Pokemon-leaguing, Girls Meetup (for me, not the boys!), etc etc
Should be even more fun this year.

OH MY GOODNESS. This is my second PAX, and me and my crew have been listing the days till since PAX East finished. 'BRIAN ONLY 179 LEFT TILL PAX!!11!!'
Seriously. I have become way more organized to what I want to do more of this time around. starting with owning a hand sanitizer i'm not getting sick again!
This is my third Prime, and I also went to the first East. This year I will be getting in earlier than previous years, as I've never experienced the line. I know, weird thing to count as a new experience... Also am hanging around Seattle a bit longer the day after PAX to just have fun and relax.

That was my first year (PAX '08). To be fair, it's hard to do PAX "well" in your first year. There's just so much, you end up overwhelmed. My second PAX was a lot better because I kind of knew what I wanted to do: I did a lot of forumer events and gaming in the tabletop/console freeplay areas, which for me is the highlight of PAX. I also made it a personal quest to get as many t-shirts as possible from the expo hall (18).
Getting a hotel room is also awesome. It really cuts down on time wasted traveling to and from, and gives you a very convenient place to crash, drop stuff, change clothes, whatever.
So, yeah. You're in great shape for this year.

I'm horribly excited for PAX. This is my 4th year. (Been going since '06, the last of the Meydenbauer PAXs.) PAX holds a special place in my heart because it was my first "Con" and it was monumental. (I still wear my "All Hail Ball" shirt with pride.)
There is something transcendental about this gathering, for me, it is something akin to a reunion, a reunion with my bretheren in geekery, yet also a communion with the gods of that pantheon.
So yes my friends, let the rejoicing begin, we are coming home.

I totally felt this last year. It sounds really trite when you say it out loud, but there really is no better way to describe it.

Is it terribly and horribly wrong of me to want to spend the next 3 weeks incessantly tormenting my hubby with pre-pax updates since he's not going because he's stuck in Ethiopia? I hope it's not too wrong. Cause I'm pretty sure I'm gonna do it anyway.
In a total debbie downer moment, I checked the calendar earlier today and found out that it's actually a week LONGER to wait than I thought. Weekend after next, right? Wrong
Move it, time. The suspense is driving me crazy! I can't wait to get home to my ever-extended family.

Haha, I totally did that when my hubby was in Iraq. Poor bastid. I sent him tons of photos tho and he exerpienced PAX as a part of me (wow, that sounds asexual).
PAX '10 will be my first, and I think Im doing it right.
Im accepting that Im going to miss a lot of stuff, but Im looking forward to getting to the keynote speech, Metacampain 2010, and do some walk abouts for booths and such.
Two weeks! For me, at least. I start my vacation the week prior to PAX, go home and see the family, and then me and by brother are going to PAX.
I went to PAX in '06. Lots of fun. Had plans to go in '07, but the Navy changed those for me. Missed '08 because I was transfering out here to Japan. Didn't even bother trying to go to '09. But now, I decided I needed a serious break from work, so I decided to do PAX this year and jump in full force with all the pre- and post-PAX festivities.
But am I going crazy? There's no schedule yet. Would really like to see it so I can get my ideas flowing on what/who I want to see.

The schedule is not far away! The official twitter account posted that it will be up with a few days. A quick google search told me that the 2009 schedule hit on or close to this day last year, so no cause for worry yet. I can't wait to get a peek at that thing though.
Second PAX for me too, after years of procrastinating. Decided to come in early and take advantage of some of the get togethers and activities, plus reserve more time I didn't have last year for local folks and things I wanted to do.
Having gotten the overwhelmed thing out of the way last year, I am MORE than ready this year to rock this out. Preferably without the upper respiratory virus I came home with last year...

I was driving some out-of-towner friends around, and I kept complaining about being blinded. They responded with "You see, where we come from, people tend to wear Sunglasses." I retorted with a simple "You people tend to have sun."
This is my 1st PAX and if I was and if I was anymore excited, I'd be a being of pure energy I'm thinking.
I'm coming home to a place I've never been before (Ghod, and I hate John Denver).

Went to my first PAX with my husband last year. Came home with tons of buttons and stickers and t-shirts and PAX Pox and a new appreciation for my chosen subculture.
This year, my husband can't go-- so I recruited two other girls to come with me! It's the first PAX for both of them and we are one giant babbling ball of PAX plans.
My classes start a week before PAX-- have I even put together my list of school supplies? Of course not. But my Buttoneer buttons have been ordered and my PAX packing list has been compiled. ^_~

I'm on double-wait... Myself and the new hubby are headed to Kauai the week before PAX, and the day before THAT I'm hoping our new Kindles will arrive.
So let's see... Anticipating the arrival of my buttons, a bag from Waterfield (which won't arrive until after we leave), two new Kindles, wanting to pack already, etc etc etc.
But it's kind of good there's some time before PAX... I have Pokemon that need to be level 50, and then get far enough into DQIX to get the social stuff. Whew!
My first PAX, too. I'm super excited - I've been wanting to go for years, and now that I finally am actually going I'm just a bundle of repressed energy. Nobody around me is as deep into the gaming culture, so for me to finally be around those who are is going to be incredibly refreshing. I've signed up for a few community events and I'm eagerly awaiting the schedule so I can make a rough plan for the weekend. I'm trying to be open about it though - I know I'll likely miss some things because I'll have so much to do, but that just means I'll be better prepared for my second time!
This will be my 5th PAX (since 2007), and I'm so hyped about it! Plus, I'll be filming for the Unofficial PAX Community DVD crew and really putting my camera through it's paces. Man, I need some more SD cards!
I'll be in town starting Tuesday, so I can rest up before the fun begins (and actually SEE Seattle). Also, RAVENCLAW!

3 weeks! *faints*
This will be my first PAX..in fact, my first game convention outside of the UK. to say i'm ultra excited would be a major understatement!
I had a dream two nights ago that I overslept and missed the pre-pax community event that I'm organizing, and then when I got off the train into seattle I found out that my friend who's flying out from DC missed her layover and was stuck in Milwaukee. And somehow the train was getting in after PAX started and I missed the two major panels that I wanted to be sure to see. And everyone hated me.
Fortunately that was all a dream and it is absolutely impossible for even a single one of those events to occur. I hope.
This is gonna be my 2nd PAX, after going to PAX 09. Was freakin amazing! Bringing 2 of my friends for their first PAX. AHHhhhhh I can't wait almost 3 weeks!!!
...and a pile of work at the office between now and then. A final battle until the hallowed days.
