This pretty much defined the 90s for me, video game-wise at least.

    Indeed.

    Also Digimon and Rouruni Kenshin.

I don't know if RuroKen is something that can be classified as something appropriate for kids... o_O

Tell that to me and every other 8-10 year old who drank that shit up.

Well, wait, was it the original Japanese dub, or the English dub?

Because the English dub had way less blood/nasty shit than the Japanese dub.

    Indeed.

    Also Digimon and Rouruni Kenshin.

I love that RK's first opening theme started off with some killer sounding guitar and you're like, oh man, it's rockin' time, and then J-POP Like so:

Yeah, but there was some mild violence where the bad guys were concerned, at least in the Japanese dub. Blood and lost extremities mostly.

I'm not saying it's necessarily a bad thing if they watched it, I just think that's something you'd want to wait until they were a little older to introduce them to it.

While we're in animu town, may as well bring up some Sailor Moon:

I've always prefered the english version of the opening a bit more than the original japanese one. It has a cool guitar solo, which is something that every good anime op needs.

What's your point? It was still a fucking awesome show that exposed children to classical literature they would otherwise know nothing about.

I'm in an unfortunate position because I detest the rose-tinted nature of 80's cartoon worship, but I'm a 90's kid and a 90's nostalgia movement is right around the corner; and the 90's had some genuinely great kid's cartoons.

So yeah, fond memories of Animaniacs, Dexter's Lab and Batman:TAS is okay, but as soon as I see anyone use Hammerman as an example of great children's programming that far surpasses anything children watch today I'm going to call them out on it.

    Wishbone was a few dogs.

Certain dogs would specialize in specific tasks.

Also, in the later episodes, Wishbone had a paw print on his white ear.

    My first anime, I think.
There was also this channel that showed a bunch of anime films at midnight, like Project A-Ko and Golgo 13.

There was also this cartoon I can't remember the name of. It was based on those oven toys, only this involved monsters that had slime in their stomachs or something, and they had to be turned upside down in the cartoon to recover.

She would only speak in "Ebonics" and say things like "home-girl!" and "awww, naww!"

Also: Whenever the chinese girl showed up they would play chop-sticks in the background.
