I move that for the interim month, this thread is about Bakuman.

    No. Bad.

So anyway, expecting this break is going to coincide with the time skip.

Man, one month is an eternity for Shounen Jump readers.

It's really a testament to Oda's power over the magazine when he can pull this kind of stuff off.

On a somewhat related note, I really like the VA for young Robin.
That was the least annoying little kid voice I've ever heard in an anime.
In fact, it was negatively annoying. I enjoyed listening to it.

I read like 9 series now, and not having One Piece for a month will SUCK. It is easily the best of the bunch, and the one I really look forward to every week.

(For ref: Naruto, Bleach (sucks... but I am curious to see what happens still), One Piece, Bakuman, Reborn, HSD Kenichi, Fairy Tail, Hajime no Ippo, Negima)

I don't think everyone's been resolved quite yet. We still need one more chapter to clear a few things up, like Zoro for example.

This showed up on Arlong Park Forums:
Yes, One Piece on break for 4 weeks comes from a reliable source. (小ネタ)
He's the same guy who gives information about what's taking breaks, and what titles are towards the end of the magazine, reflecting polls.

Specifically, Jump issue 40~43 will have no One Piece.

EDIT: The spoiler coming this week is for issue 39.

This sounds like there's one more chapter/spoiler coming up, then time to hibernate for a month

    FUCK! Awesome spoilers
-Zoro has already beaten the monkeys, and is now asking Mihawk to train him.
-The Tattoo was 3D2Y (with the 3D crossed out), so Not 3 Days, 2 Years.
-Luffy is training solo with Rayleigh for 2 years on an island where the seasons change weekly.
-Haki is FINALLY EXPLAINED by Rayleigh
---Sensory type (for lack of a translation) Haki - Allows you to predict moves and dodge attacks (Luffy flashes back to Enel and one of the snake sisters)
---*** type Haki - strengthens attack and defense, allows you to attack Logia type (flashback to Rayleigh vs Kizaru, and others)
---Haoushoku Haki - We know what this one can do.

-Chapter ends with Luffy setting aside his hat, vivre card, and his title as Pirate Strawhat Luffy in the one safe place on the island, then going to train.

oh, and month off CONFIRMED. FUCK.

Also, does the "King's Disposition" thing mean that he can do multiple ones? I mean, Luffy kinda showed the precognition one in the middle of the war, too, and....well, it'd be kinda rough for him if he still can't fight logias.

    Script spoilers:
Haki specific, since we're already talking about it.
    p12
Luffy: Here it comes!! Something's coming this way, Rayleigh!!
Rayleigh: Listen Luffy... Haki is a power found in every human being in this world....
"presence", "will", "intimidation".... it's no different from those common human senses.
.... however, majority of humans don't notice the power in them...
Luffy: Is that an elephant? It's a huge elephant!!
Rayleigh: .... or they try to awaken it, but fails to do so in their life time....
to "not doubt", that is your strength!!
Watch well.... Haki is roughly categorized in two types.
    Luffy: Watch out!!!
Rayleigh: It's alright... the elephant is coming for my head from the right, using his nose....
    Luffy: what....?

    p13
Rayleigh: To feel the opponent's "presence" strongly. This is known as the "Color of Observation (Kenbun-shoku)" haki...
By training this, you can know the position of the target whose even out of your sight...
the number of enemies.. and even what their next immediate move is.
    Luffy: oh...!!
Enel (flashback): Kick with the left leg.... "Mantra"
Rayleigh: In the sky island of Skypiea, they call this Mantra.

Rayleigh: Next is the "Color of Armor (Busou-shoku)" Haki. For this, imagine yourself wearing an invisible armor...
    Luffy: Whoa!

    p14
    Luffy: I.. know that move!!
    Sentoumaru (flashback): Ashigara Dokkoi!!

Rayleigh: If your armor is strong, of course you can use it for attack. *boink*
Luffy: OUCH!! I'm rubber, and your hit hurts..!?
Rayleigh: This is what's so useful about this power

    p15
Rayleigh: Other than attacking their weakness, this Armored Haki is the only efficient power against Devil Fruit users.
Even though the Logia types intangible bodies may feel invincible, with this power you can directly contact their real body...
Luffy: So this is how you managed to touch Kizaru.... so I could even hit that marine Smoky and Aokiji?
Rayleigh: Have you seen the amazons' arrows? This power can be imbued into weapons.
Luffy: Yeah, I thought those were made out of steel!
Rayleigh: Color of Observation, and Color of Armor.. these two types are Haki.
....however, there are few rare individuals in this world that can use this following type of haki....

    p16-17
Rayleigh: This is the Color of Conqueror King (Haoh-shoku) Haki... the type of haki that can intimidate the opponent...!!
Those who become extremely famous in this world is often found to use this haki....
However... this Haoushoku can be controlled, but not trained.
This power is the will of the user himself...!! Its strength only grows as the user himself grows..
Luffy: It's the one you did at the auction house...
Rayleigh: You've already experienced it, your potential for Haoushoku has already been awakened
Until you can control it perfectly, you should not use it very often...
Else, you'll affect even the unrelated bystanders...!

    p18
    Rayleigh: ...what is it?
Luffy: Amazing...!! The crew of the pirate king can defeat such monsters without even laying hands on it...!?
Rayleigh: Wahaha, did you learn some respect for me now?
    Luffy: yeah

Luffy: ... but this Haki, I've seen it used many times
Rayleigh: I'm sure you have... but to learn it is not an easy task...
Although it's too short a time normally... you have great potential.
I'll do my best to teach you the basics of Color of Observation, Armor, and King in two years.
    Luffy: Ok
Rayleigh: ...however, most poeple lean towards a certain color depending on their forte.
You must discover it, and train the color you are best at.
If you can strengthen all the types, the more you can do with them
    Luffy: Ok, gotcha!

    Discussion
So it looks like the first two can be trained, although it's obviously hard. The third one is something which only certain people can use.

So yes, Luffy can have all three - in fact, will almost certainly have all three - and it's technically possible that any of the crew might be able to have at least two of them.

I mean: It's about punching people, it makes fun of typical manga troopes, it has a little baby who electrecutes people, it has Dragon Quest refrences, it has a goth chick with an umbrella. For short It's basically the next best thing after One Piece WKJ has ever published.

Though it also becomes a bit obvious about a few things...
Zoro has already started learning the Observation Haki back during Alabasta and his fight with Mr. 1

Sanji will probably be focused on the Armor Haki (thinking back to his Diable Jambe kick)

Coby is obviously an Observation focused type.

Nami is able to predict the weather even on the Grand Line, which suggest observation-type haki. Usopp is a long-distance fighter and would benefit from haki-powered projectiles. Chopper... I don't know. I never really saw him as the fighting type. It would be great if there was a haki healing technique, but he'll do just fine with the stuff he's learning. Franky seems to be all about the technology, so he'll probably ignore haki.

As for Robin, I don't even know what it is she does on that ship. And I skipped the Thriller Bark arc, so I don't know what Brook is good for.

    Robin is the archeologist ;D

Brooke is more of a bard. He fights with a sword too, but he's nowhere near Zoro's level.

And there's no guarantee that everyone in the crew needs to get Haki in the first place, really. I wouldn't worry about it too much.
