Will definitely follow you guys. I was thing about buying a desktop to get into the previously unexplored (by me) PC side of gaming, but if you want to just give me a PC, that's cool too.
Ah yes, this game. Last year, I tried all 3 days of PAX, never was seen by an Intel person. I followed twitter...but apparently there was a delay between when I got the update and when it was sent, so I never got someplace on time. I finally got my chance at the end of the day Sunday, actually getting the final tweet on time where you could answer a trivia question about the chips and winning a one in ten chance of getting the chip. So I ended up as one of those last 10 folks...and won a t-shirt. Hardest-won t-shirt ever! It was all fun.
And the t-shirt was worth it, I still get accosted by random gamers laughing at my "Don't even think of blaming the lag" shirt.

I found them all the time and frequently had a card in my back pocket. It was definitely a combo of spending a lot of time in the expo hall, keeping tabs on twitter, and spotting Intel employee store apparel and employee badges from a mile away. (Mom's been there 14 years, there was always random Intel branded apparel/mugs/post-its/bunny dolls in our house. That also means I wasn't eligible and had to give up my cards to my friends.)

I went hunting and found the Intel prize patrol 2 or 3 times last year but just won shirts and hats. Then, on Sunday, I was simply walking through the fourth floor and was physically stopped by a woman grabbing my arm. She was checking to see if I was wearing an Intel button (which I was!) and she handed me a card. It was completely out of the blue.

Aw you're the best friend ever!
Also, I love those bunny dolls. I understand Intel calls them "bunny men".
Intel Game On really does have THE BEST contests and they are the most awesome people EVER. The team who came to Fry's just after PAX last year absolutely made my entire year. You rock!!!
Now if only my boyfriend hadn't thrown away all my buttons from last year....

That's the card that won me my CPU.
HAH! Awesome. Glad to see so many forumers winning the big prizes.
Oh yeah – I forgot to mention there’s even one more way that you can win some sweet prizes at PAX. Some time on Saturday (probably around lunch time), the Intel WiMAX Wanderer will be hanging around outside the PAX convention center. He’s very very sneaky, so you’ll have to look for him with a blue Intel flag. When you find the Wanderer, tell him the password “wireless freedom” and you can get a Game On prize card PLUS you’ll get to draw another card for prizes including $25/$50/$100 Best Buy gift cards, solar charged speakers and more.
Seattle is just the first stop on the WiMAX Wanderer’s cross country tour. You can find out where he’s heading next on Facebook and Twitter.
The difference between the two is only clockspeed, nothing else. The 740 is 133Mhz faster, probably not worth $150, you probably wouldn't notice the speed difference even if the two computers were side by side.
Buying new laptop, should I get the i7 720QM or pay $150 extra and get the i7 740QM?
Yeah, very minor speed improvement. Save the money and use it to get a better GPU or maybe even a solid-state hard drive. An SSD will give you WAY more noticeable speed increase than the CPU would.
Yay! I found my old badge in the attic! Now to prepare for hunting down Intel wanderers
Won 2 shirts last year (which are awesome) and had a fun doing it. I just remember one of the times we swarmed the the Wanderer whilst pretending to be zombies.
Our prize patrol will be giving out buttons to people in line before the show opens up. They prize patrol generally has buttons anyway. But you can also stop by the booth and get some
Will the prize patrol be handing out the buttons at the main theater line at benaroya hall?
Actually we'll be at the convention center. However, I think I'll make a trip down to say hello to everyone and bring a few hundred buttons. There's no way I can cover everyone but I can try!
More good news. I've been working on forming some partnerships with other booths so that, when I tweet about where the prize patrol will be, if I tell you to go to a certain booth there's a chance you'll get a bonus just for showing up there.
Who are these partners, you ask? That'll ruin the surprise. :P
My mom got me all pumped up when she told me on the phone that she saw several colleagues packing up at work for PAX today!
Yep, it's gonna be crazy. Intel actually has a booth in the main exhibition hall, too. Hope that doesn't cause much confusion with our thing. o_O
Wait, so you guys AREN'T Booth 1314?
Nope. We are in the south lobby, just outside the queue room. Same floor as the expo hall, just...away from it.
You have made me start to worry, sir. :!:
Worry not, for I have re-oriented myself accordingly, and have your booth's correct position firmly in my sights - expect me there first thing Friday morning, if not earlier, to show off my shiny '09 badge!
Awright peeps! It's time to get your GAME ON! (Oh how I love being corny).
I'm going to update the opening post with these details in a sec, but here are SOME NEW WAYS TO WIN!!!1!!11!!
Intel Game On Alumni Edition
Do you have a button or shirt or bag or Core i7 or something we gave you from a previous PAX? Come to our booth and show it to us (no, really, SHOW it to us or we might not clue in). You will be entered into a random draw to win a Core i7-980X Extreme Edition. You may be asked for the passcode -- it is "friend".
Intel Game On Hardcore Edition
Are you one of our Twitter regulars? Do you win twelve shirts every PAX but never something cooler? Well, pay close attention because Hardcore Edition is for you. Basically, we want your help getting our big blue Game On buttons on people. For every person you bring to our booth at 11:30am and 3:00pm every day of the show, we will give you a sticker to put on your badge. Collect 15 stickers and I'll give you a special goodie that regular Game On players won't get. Collect 25 and I'll add you to a drawing to win a Core i7. You can imagine how great your odds of winning will be. All your friends will be given Game On buttons.
You will need to register with me to get activated. I'll be at our booth in the south lobby every day at 11:30am and 3:00pm -- just ask the booth staff where the "Twitter guy" is!
ps. Hardcore mode pretty much relies on the honor system so please be honorable.
I was disappointed after hours of looking around and finding no IntelGameOn booth OR prize patrol. When I finally stumbled upon the booth tucked away in the corner by Band Land I managed to catch a patrol on its way out. A fine lady gave me the card off the top of her stack.. and it was a Toshiba Satellite -- the exclusive Friday prize! ^^
You guys seriously are the best, and I'm saying this as unbiased as I possibly can. A game where everyone wins just spreads the joy around the entire convention and makes me love this community all over again.
Sorry about the twitter overload! And yes, see you in the morning! I will personally be going to Benaroya first thing to hand out buttons (I'll have prize cards for those of you wearing older buttons/swag) and confuse the hell out of people as I explain the rules.

Heh, I remember specifically checking them out at Prime '09 because you tweeted your location next to their booth and said Elemental blew your mind :P
YOU REMEMBER THAT?! Mind asplode. :rotate: I'm probably going to send the prize patrol there again, honestly. Serious man crush on Brad Wardell, here.

1 is enough to partially bury someone. :P
In computations!
