Official Enforcer Appreciation Thread

I promised Momgamer that I'd start this, especially since now I have a lot of appreciation to give the [E]'s this year. Everyone who wants to give some greets and thanks to the [E]'s... This is the place to do so!

My personal thanks are to Joost (Fire) and Momgamer, as well as ItsATrap and LadyVenus. You guys helped me relax and chill when I was totally beaten to hell from the 15+ interviews I had to run to and from. Joost is always a pleasure to hang around (Especially when he's sharing his smexy Alienware lappy with me), but Momgamer really was awesome as well!

Also, big thanks to Derrick with PAX PR. He was awesome as well!

I'd like to extend a hearty thanks to the Enforcers. You all have to deal with the impossible job of pleasing thousands of gamers for the weekend and you always seem to do that superbly when I see you. I hope in that in the process you met some cool people and had some laughs of your own.

I really respect the enforcers for giving up their time at PAX so that we can have an amazing weekend, go to panels, hang out, etc. and not have to worry about running things or setting up or tearing down and all the other hard work that they do. You guys are awesome, thank you!!!

Ah, I was gonna start one of these threads, if it wasn't already up, but I'm glad to see it's already here.

Enforcers, I think I only used your awesome assistance once, maybe twice, this weekend but I want all of you to know that I appreciate what you do for all of us and I personally would like to thank you for helping make this weekend one of the best weekends of the year.

    Again, Thanks!

I thought the Console, PC Freeplay, and BYOC rooms were expertly managed.

My wife and kids had their first PAX this year and I was very proud for them to see what I've been coming to for the last 7 years. My wife was particularly impressed when she saw the care taken in the Console room of wiping down controllers upon return.

And I know your presence made her feel safe for our kids. She looked at me weird after I told them that if they got separated or had any issues they could always go to a blue shirted Enforcer for help. She thought I was joking. But then she looked around and saw your omnipresent army. That instilled quite a bit of confidence.

I can't really echo this enough. I was in the Benaroya afternoon team (if you were in the concert lines on either night, you probably saw me), and there were definitely hiccups due to the new venue. A huge thanks to all of the attendees for being considerate, kind, and attentive as we smoothed out the kinks that came along with having a seated venue with a definite and limited number of seats. Your continued patience as information changed was very much appreciated, and made my job a lot easier.

This was my first year enforcing, and it's because of you guys that I had such an amazing time and will definitely be back to work for you next year.

    Thank you.

I just wanted to say I really appreciate the Enforcers and what they do! I just made an account on these forums to say thanks. I really enjoyed the show, especially the enforcer who ran up the escalators to BYOC towards the end who I yelled "man on a mission!"

+1 to the Enforcer love. Every year they tirelessly help PAX novices find their way around and helping us veterans who might require assistance too. A handful of names spring immediately to my mind but they ALL deserve a hearty round of thanks. You rock.

Next year I intend to spend extra cash (will have a real job finally) to get way more buttons made so that I can give them away to all the enforcers that are collecting them without having buttons of their own. I would have loved to give them out more except I figure it's cheating out the buttoneers that are still missing mine at the end because I always run out pretty quickly at the final exchange. Going to change all of that.

    Thanks for PAX!

All the ones I met were absolute heroes. If any of them are in London, I will buy them many drinks and bacons :)

    Special shoutouts:

The kilted giant who was working the line at the PA Make A Strip panel on saturday morning (the one who got his hug on stage). He threatened to throw me over the balcony because of my t-shirt :D

The awesome girl with the absolutely kick-ass hair on the 4th floor who was running the Infected game. She was super friendly and just generally cool.

Everyone who worked the line on Friday morning in the main queue room. It went super smoothly from my point of view; you guys did a really awesome job.

Twinkie, for her Jagermeister-related behaviour on the TWDT

The travelling salesman psuedo-cosplaying Enforcer who was telling people about the classic console freeplay area. <3 you for your epic fast thinking line when the fire alarm went...pulls out pocket watch, "Oh my goodness, that's my train" You sir, are a true god among men.

I didn't really have any interactions with Enforcers this year, come to think of it, but I certainly know from previous PAXii that they're an impressive force indeed. For me this Prime they were simply hard working in the background to make everything run smooth. Perhaps the fact I didn't really notice them this time around is simply proof of how great they've done their jobs. Anyway, thanks Enforcers!

I thought the addition of the line entertainment Enforcers this year was pretty awesome. And not just because I won an A30 headset from one. I assume they were inspired by the Get In Line games from Prime/East, and it definitely helped make the wait a bit easier.

But - just in general, all of the Enforcers were awesome this year, so much so that I think I've been inspired to apply to be one for East...

Plus whenever someone desperately needed to talk to me for button trading stuff someone was always nice enough to escort them in and out or come find me.

I'd like to extend e-hugs and my appreciation to those that took pictures of my grunt tattoo, and/or knew what it was. On a day to day basis I get stopped and people have asked me to date if it was Stitch, a transformer or from metroid. It's been called an alien which is, pretty much what it is so.. I let that one slide.

Well, our asses are just as nerdy as yours are. I think that explains a lot of why the attendee/enforcer thing works as well as it does.

So nerdy attendees aren't tolerated. You are celebrated and loved.

Lots of thanks to Deadmetal, bloodelf, and the rest of the crew who manned the Rock Band free play stage. Having RB3 was an added bonus! bloodelf I know you sort of got boxed out of playing w/ us late on Sunday after your shift ended. I promise next year that NBAM will join you to play the song of your choosing :D.

I also think the carnival barker who was pimping CCFP was pretty awesome. I wanted to have a cracker-jack good time playing golden-eye but never found time.

"I've worked at a lot of cons, doing these shows. I talk to a lot of people, and all the developers I know want to come to PAX... it's in a league of it's own. The Enforcers make this con what it is, and for this I sincerely thank you."
