I never actually played the game, but it looked neat. Bummer. :CAPB has been a fantastic journey, but unfortunately that journey has come to a premature end. Today we are sad to announce that despite everyone's best efforts to keep the service running; APB is coming to a close. It's been a pleasure working on APB and with all its players. Together we were building an absolutely amazing game, and for that, we thank you. You guys are awesome!

What spring does with the cherry trees.
Free* punch and pie.
and H:L is being picked up by someone else to run servers in north america (it's actually still going in Asia).
hey campion are you interested in hellgate at all? Did you ever play it? Or did you just want to drop some mad trivia
I didn't like the demo way back when but I'd like to maybe give it another shot if europeans can get in on the american servers
I thought Hellgate was pretty bad. I'd rather just play D2 or torchlight some more.
oh snap, crackle, pop
I don't know about Euros mixing with Americans, I think server joining may be automated.
That and it was shit from a butt.

I was reading some article about it, and apparently they had ranks or levels or whatever. And higher levels actually made you a lot tougher, do more damage, etc. And then they still have open pvp between all levels. So it was basically newbie curb stomping by a month in.
or a hooker, which sounds more in line with the game's style
I played through it once, like you would any Diablo-eqse game, and used the same weapon I found from the start till the end. I was thoroughly unamused by this, and by how damned glitchy the game was.
I can't even remember how many times I fell through the world into nothingness, or a quest would just not end/work.
I hear more about this than I have about WoW ever. Kind of like those yappy rat dogs compared to a mastiff.

My friend bought it though - I bet hes pissed.
But after that you realize how horrible the character progression was and how most of the fun of the game was in making cool songs/designs/characters.
Then they announced their retarded plan of "you have to pay real money to trade you creations" and everyone stopped caring about the game.
I got all kinds of guns and swords and armour, that was fun times.
If only there was some way to broadcast a message to everyone at once.
This is why 99% of the people who want to get into the industry won't or shouldn't: GAME IDEAS MEAN NOTHING.
Implementation is everything.
the model was bad, and the gameplay was shit
can't fault them for a go at it, though
Really awesome podcast dude asked his listeners to send in their game ideas, however crazy.
The result was him stringing bits and pieces of it together into a (mostly) cohesive plot and making it a song.
