[Phalla] Phallology - Finale: Supremacy

HesiodHesiod Registered User regular
edited October 2010 in Critical Failures
The city of Santa Mistica was a sleepy little hamlet, resting comfortably in northern Italy. It was home to really nothing of any importance aside from people trying to make their way through life. Which is why it was so surprising to the citizens that they woke up one day to see no sky.

Instead, they saw a large, imposing figure standing above them.

“Citizens of Santa Mistica! You are about to take part in a spectacle that none of your kind have seen before. For too long, your mystical beings and Gods have quarreled needlessly about the established order of things, claiming tribute that does not belong to them. Many solutions have been discussed, but the old ways are best. It will be settled in combat. And it will be settled here, in this town, which has been temporarily removed from Earth and placed in a pocket dimension, so none can interfere.”

You have been chosen to take part. Both as witnesses, and as participants. For it shall be your tribute the gods must fight for, and they will earn it. So, humans, rejoice! For you are about to see something truly...biblical!”

As the being finishes his speech, a small, blue portal opens inside an unassuming building. A group of men and women emerge, their faces grim, their eyes determined. They were about to do the unthinkable.

They were about to kill a God.
Phallology: Battle of the Gods

A Faction-Based Phalla for 50 Players

What is this thing?
This is a "Phalla", a version of the party game "Mafia" adapted for forum-based play. For those who wish to familiarize themselves with the basic rules and concepts, this post covers them in detail.

Who are you and why should I care?
This phalla is brought to you by Farangu and jdarksun. There is also a [STRIKE]host[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]co-host[/STRIKE] narrator, The Anonymous.

All right, what are the rules?
This particular game is a Faction v. Faction v. Mafia game. General phalla rules apply: no communication with dead/non-players, no anonymous contact, no screenshots. If you create a proboard for private discussion, you must invite either Farangu or Jdarksun (preferably both) to it.

What about the rest of the game?
Each day, players must cast two public votes: a kill vote (in bold red) for a player, and a belief vote (in bold cyan) for a faction. Either vote may be retracted in bold lime, but it is unnecessary if you are changing your vote. At the end of the day, whoever receives the most kill votes will be eliminated, and factions will earn 10 PP (Power Point) for each belief vote they receive. These PP may be spent on a number of fascinating abilities.

Any rules for inactivity?
Players must, at minimum, cast one kill vote and one belief vote, and make one more discussion post each day. This is your only warning. Players who fail to meet this requirement will find themselves at the mercy of the all-powerful entity known only as "Inactivus". The close for actions and votes is 9 P.M. CST.

How do I sign up?
Sign up to play in bold lime. Alternatively, you may sign up as a reserve in bold cyan.

What if I have a question?
You may request clarification in bold orange. We will do our best to answer your queries, within reason.

What's so special about this phalla?
Well, for starters, there are one or two non-standard mechanics.

OH HELL NO NOT THAT AGAIN
Wait! Before you leave in a fit of rage, we can make the following assurances. This game will have NO MILLERS OR THRALLS. NO CONVERSIONS.

Anything else I should know?
Snape kills Dumbledore.

What does the "while slacking off" specification imply?
It means the person in question would have been purged by Inactivus that day.

    Example Villager PM:
You are ______! A mildly religious person, you got swept into this mess, and you intend to make the best of it. The old ways are best, after all.

You win if a mythology triumphs over the forces of Mafia. Your secondary win is ________.
