So the nether...seriously? I get swarmed by like 10 ghasts every time I go there. My portal gets snuffed out pretty from the opening volley.
I feel like I'm doing something wrong. I wonder if all the fire around my portal is somehow attracting more? Either way, no way I'm going back through that portal anymore. Time to divert my obsidian back to making my house indestructible.
Having 64 torches is hardly indicative of anything. He could have three more stacks of torches and I wouldn't bat an eye, considering how trivial they are to make.

Practically unused diamond tools, but no armor? Not even iron? Completely untouched shovel, and yet all that sand and clay? He would have needed to be in this game for a long, long time to have the resources for the sign and the diamond tools to have bare minimum.
I'm calling BS. Clay is not that easy to find in such quantity.
Having diamond tools isn't hard. I have two diamond picks in perfect condition and lost a third in the nether. you just have to mine efficiently. I can't comment on the clay and bricks though.
Totally not hacked (and not even my pic...that was from the admin). It was legitimately harvested, exploring the coastline of a pure (no cheats, no nothing) multiplayer server.
First image of the home I've made while I await for a new itineration of Ein's server.
It was hard to find a place that I like with a floating island (and that wasn't covered in snow) but it was sooo worth it ^__^

I don't believe it.
A big map and using cartographer to spot above-water level deposits of clay netted me about 800 brick blocks.
And diamond tools/torches ain't a problem at all once you get going.

Loaded the Col/Rap map up on the SE++ server, which had been running their map just fine since the patch. Same shitty results. Tells me that the problem lies either with the map, or the way the client is dealing with the map.
The latter would seem more likely to me, given that even on a brand-new map we're still getting garbage performance.
I think I'm done trying to fix things until Notch gets back and fixes them himself. With that said, if someone else wants to grab the next OP and do a better job of managing it than I have, please feel free.

But Hell is pretty cool. I guess...

took about 500 brick blocks to construct. It took FOREVER to find that much clay...
Or you hacked it all in...
More likely, given the conspicuous stack of 64 torches, diamond tools, etc...

So have I.
But if it's on multiplayer, easy duping certainly casts a shadow across all of our respective accomplishments.
Not that it matters....SMP is just creative mode ATM anyway.

No of course not. But I have an exam to study for so I'm busying myself by finding inane things to discuss.

What exactly are we looking at?
Is that actual shading I'm seeing there on the blocks, or am I crazy?
