[Trade On] The Gaming Stock Exchange

I stumbled across this on the weekend

It's like the Hollywood Stock Exchange, only with gaming. Seems to have a bit of a small user base at the moment, but I can see it becoming reasonably popular.

My Pirates of th Burning Sea shares are doing fairly well :)

    I actually signed up for this the other day

    I have two problems with it

    A) Very limited selection of games (or IPOs) to choose from, many of them are already released and kind of dated, which takes me to my next problem..

    B) That after games are released, many of them crash and/or plateau. Also considering that for many games there's no reason for them to be revisited months after they are released, the whole game revolves around buying shares of upcoming titles (that look like they will get favorable reviews), wait for their release, then cash out before everyone else does.

    So its great that you can watch as new people start playing this game just by watching your stocks. Extremely stable small changes thru the day followed by wild variation in the last 15 min

    Nobody likes my thread. :'((((((

    Anyway, the stocks are traded based on their hype and sales figures. Its a simplification of the actual stock market, but certain factors do affect the prices of the stocks. These factors include the release of news/media and sales figures worldwide. I think supply and demand is more influential though.

    Somebody buy my Phoenix Wright stocks...... please? :p

    I made $65 grand or so the first day, currently up around $10k today as well, depending on which second I look at the spore stock.

    The site suspends members for illegal/extreme stock manipulation though. So don't over do it.

    Because that's EXACTLY what I did. I bought low, and sold high, which made it fluctuate.

    If I'm going to get suspended for being smart, there are going to be stabbings.
