    Just two problems there Whyther.

One: How did you get the Workout feature?

The Coordinator class itself is granted when choosing the Coordinator 'feature' (Technically, trainers start at level 0, so once a player reaches level 1, are they allowed to choose specialised classes).

Two: Your total stats pool is 66 (add all the numbers of your stats together). It should be 65.

Okay, I was confused about how that worked. Fixing that now.

A plain, short-haired blonde with a lax demeanor, a snarky attitude, and secret aspirations of greatness. After the first few Devon Tickets were found it was child's play to figure out how they were placing them, or at least it was if you had a number-cruncher as good as Diplo on your side. Mere moments after a shipment reached the Mauville Shop, the self-assured girl strode in and snatched up an antidote. The shiny, new Devon Ticket she found inside the package was no surprise to the canny lass.

Ticket in hand, Alice hopes that what she'll learn at the Devon Pre-Expo will be important enough to sell to a competing corporation like Silph Co. in exchange for an Upgrade for her close, and only, friend.

    [Boon Island]

A tropical, turquoise sea surrounds four luxury ships as they approach Boon Island in the relatively shallow waters of the Sevii Islands Archipelago. One ship from the three major regions: Johto, Kanto, and Sinnoh, here to take guests to this remote location in no small degree of luxury.

As well as one liner from Hoenn that might have been impressive... were it not dwarfed by its sisters.

Otto Pine isn't willing to let this get him down, flexing with Gideon on the deck.

Looking at the island with even a casual glance reveals that it's not quite how anybody who might have visited or read about it previously would have remembered. Immediately obvious is a towering building of unknown function, its glass windows standing out strongly from the much less modern buildings of the locals.

Built over what might have formerly been a beach, or perhaps a reef, lies a straight…paved area. An airstrip? Out here?

Aside from these two alterations, the surrounding environment seems as undisturbed as ever. Waves crash into the beaches, and small unnamed islands can be spotted nearby. The beautiful gleam of a Knot and Kin islands can be seen to the east and west respectively, barely above the horizon. A shimmering dark blue fish that almost seems to have butterfly wings briefly makes an appearance next to the Johto liner. Two large palm trees flank the relatively small dock which nonetheless towers over them.

Suddenly the sound of an engine revving at full speed is heard in the distance.

Those on deck startled by the sound turn to see a smaller, yet still seaworthy craft speeding into the harbor, skimming over the waves. Some wonder and discuss among themselves the identity of the new vessel.

At the bow of the boat, Jon Forest and Nemo smile as the wind blows through their faces. Devon Corporation overlooked the Orre region in their competition and had to scramble to provide transportation, contracting a local vessel to ferry Jon at no small cost.

Ripley Venkmann glances at the boat, then at Forte, then at the large building at the shore. He sorely hoped that this “Devon Corp” had something really interesting to show. Then a flash of light temporarily startled him.

From the neighboring Johto liner, Jamie Jennings sighed, realizing too late that with the lighting naturally available that flash might even make her picture even worse. And where did Handy run off to?

Several levels below Jamie, Johanna Huggett and Donburi wake up from an afternoon nap. Is the ship at port yet?

The ships begin to dock, and the passengers begin to embark. The other passengers on the four regional cruise liners seem to be largely wearing obscuring hats and sunglasses and keeping to small groups, talking amongst each other quietly. Viewable at the end of the port is a briefly assembled barricade. The people largely wearing sunglasses go through various entrances and a separate entrance with a sign saying “DEVON TICKET holders here” remains unused for now.

“Okay, we’d better get going.” Mitch Raimer unplugs his portable game system from the television and hastily puts it into his already packed luggage, heading up to the top level of the Kanto liner. Apeirohedron follows behind him.

PARTY LIMIT BREAK (yeah, gonna have you guys separate into two groups of three that kinda work together in the future, I think)

I'm well aware this is the same green as in Voltage group beta. The other greens have horrible contrast with the blue background, unfortunately.

Maybe I'll change to a brown or something later.

Use deepskyblue for OOC descriptions of actions when you think them necessary. (Magikarp used SPLASH! etc.)

And a list of trainers who were accepted for easier reference:

Otto Pine the coordinator, with Gideon the machop (Whyther).

Mitch Raimer the researcher, with Apeirohedron the Porygon (Elemental Knight). (I might have to tone down psybeam's damage at lower levels, we'll see how it goes)

Johanna Huggett the researcher, with Donburi the Munchlax (simonwolf).

Jamie "Snapshot" Jennings the ranger, with Handy the Aipom (spoit).

Jon Forest the breeder, with Nemo the squirtle (Sakutian).

Ripley Venkmann the ace trainer, with Forte the gastly (TiamatZ).

You guys can feel free to post at this point. Also try to upload your characters and pokemon to the wiki within the next day or two. If you need stating help ask me.

I guess I'll start hanging out in #bide in irc.rizon.net, but PMs on the forums work just as well.

Someone seriously needs to make another game of this :/

    Mitch Raimer - Apeirohedron

Mitch emerges topside, his old shoulderbag swinging a little wildly as he tries to get it over his back while moving, bumping into a few people in the process. He looks around, trying to find the way down to the dock, but with little success.

"Man, I can't see which way to disembark. Can you, Pei?"

    "...Gon."

"Okay, dumb question. Uh, I guess we'll just go with the flow. Should get us to land eventually, and we can get our bearings then. Look out for a big sign with DEVON on it or something, okay?"

    "Por!"

No problem with rebalancing Psybeam's damage here, I'm not in this to minmax the fun away. Just tell me what it ends up as.

And yes, more PTA games! At this rate there'll be more PTA games than D&D games on this board by this time next year. (...Actually, if any more get created, we should look into trading Pokemon between threads - especially since there's one for every major region now.)

((Good group. Best GM. This is so exciting!))

    [Bide] [Otto Pine] 066MS.png

Before the ships dock, Otto and Gideon run through their basic contest strategy one last time:

"... and Flex! Leer left, Low Kick! Leer right! Flex! FLEX! UAGH!"

"Chop! Chop chop chop chop! MA! CHOP!"

Otto stops while continuing to yell out the routine, with plenty of unnecessary yells of encouragement and grunts at Gideon, making sure his form is perfect.

"And done! Alright, bro, that was great! I think we got a lot done today-- boat's docking, so we're gonna have to stop, but we got a lot done today, man. I like the effort you're putting into to this, man," Otto says to Gideon while giving him a congratulatory high-five and pat on the back. "Alright, let's do a set of push-ups for a warm-down."

While bobbing up and down on the currently-docking boat, Otto turns to Gideon and asks: "Hey man, you see that big building up there? You reckon it's bigger than the department store?"

    "Chop! Chop!" Gideon responds, nodding.

After finishing and returning Gideon to his pokéball, Otto quickly changes into his 'formal' clothing, and races down to the dock, where he almost walks into the regular gate before noticing the sign for the Devon Ticket holders. He makes his way through the crowd, tote bag at his back, until he stands in front of the gate. Otto looks around to see if there are any others, but when he doesn't see them, he walks to the side and stares out to the sea for a bit. The ocean-- so vast, so powerful, so...

Tough. Otto muses on what it means to be an ocean for a moment.

    [Boon Island]

All five ships are docked, the Orre boat just barely managing to squeeze into a spot next to the Johto liner. Harbor crew fasten ropes and help deploy ramps for those boats that are not already set to embark, and attendants on those vessels remove blocking rope and announce that their passengers may leave.

The large building is closer now, and those squinting can barely see the words "Boon Island Department Store" at the very top level of the building.

A older man with gray hair and a relaxed demeanor as well as a younger man with spiky brown hair, a black t-shirt and blue jeans, and more tense demeanor, both wearing sunglasses, pass Ripley Venkmann on the way out. They embark and head towards one of the other entrances.

The Devon Ticket entrance remains unused.

Wow, I'm really excited to have been chosen to play in this. I'll do my best and thanks.

Remaining on the ships bow Jon watches as the other passengers begin disembarking from the ship and making their way down the dock to their next destinations. Most of the journey Jon had been so distracted by all the strange sights and sounds that he hadn't really had much time to think about what he was doing. Even though he had grown up in a harbor town this was the first time that he had ever sailed anywhere. Now that he was really here staring at the strangely tall tower of glass and metal that loomed over the other buildings he was afraid.

All of the other passengers, mostly tourists Jon guessed, didn't seem frightened by the island so why was he? Nemo didn't seem frightened but then again fear wasn't something the tiny pokemon ever really seemed to think of. <"This is dumb" Jon thought to himself. "I can't just stand around here staring forever. What would my mom say after I begged her to let me leave home if I came right back without ever even getting off of this boat?">

Looking down at his pokemon who was currently fascinated by the water lapping at the side of their ship Jon says "Well what do you say Nemo? Should we go ahead and see what the real world is like?"

Nemo's head snaps up from the water and he nods swiftly. "Squirt!" With more speed than one would expect of a turtle pokemon Nemo darts away from the bow of the ship towards the dock darting through the legs of anyone who happens to be in his way.

"Hey Nemo wait for me!" Hefting his bag dark green backpack onto his shoulder and barreling after his pokemon Jon can't help but smile.

"And that should be it!" Jamie cheers, as she packs away her "pokedex," having added the most recent shot of some white blob in front of a much larger shiny metallish blob. Pokedex, Check! Camera, Check! Stlyer, Check! Handy?

"Oh noooooo, where could that little monkey have run off to now?"

He wasn't in the closet, nor the bathroom. And running down the halls shouting his name got her nothing but weird looks from the other passengers. Seeing that the ship was docked, and people were already starting to get off, she started to worry, remembering how unhappy he'd been cooped up in the ship.

Seeing how big the island was, she decided she needed help. Spotting a nearby seabird, she pulled out her styler and got ready.

"Hey mr. birdy! Want to help me?"

    [Bide] URL="http://pokemonadventures.pbworks.com/Johanna-Hugget"]Johanna Huggett[/URL 446MS.png

Deep within the ship, in one of the sleeping quarters, Johanna and Donburi are sound asleep. They'd been like this for quite some time, the young researcher finally going along with Donburi's apparent plan to be well-rested before arriving on the shore of the island. It is the sudden lack of movement that stirs Johanna from her nap, and she rolls around onto her chest, grabbing the alarm clock she'd set and examining the time. When she realises it is around an hour after she had planned for the alarm to wake her up, she makes an annoyed grunt and pokes Donburi in the belly a few times, scowling at him through sleepy eyes.

"I told you not to mess with the alarm,":she says, swinging around to get off the bed, "We were meant to get a good look at the island before we pulled in."

Donburi rolls on his side, and for a moment he opens his mouth, perhaps to answer her, but then he breathes in with a loud snoring sound, before exhaling and muttering, "Laxlaxlaxlaxlaaaaax."

Pulling on her shoes, Johanna makes a mental checklist of her gear, making sure it's all there. Relieved that Munchlax didn't decide to play hide and seek with one of her empty Pokeballs (explaing to an old man on the train that her Pokemon had hidden something in his shopping bag once was enough), she threw her bag over her shoulder and picked up the baseball bat.

Feeling the weight of it in her hands, she reflected for a moment on what she was doing, how she'd gotten here. Who she had to thank and decry in the same breath for what he'd done, intentionally and inadvertantly, to contribute to Johanna's life.

    A breath.

Poking and tickling Munchlax until he got up, the pair head up to the top of the ship, ready to get down and explore their destination.

[1, crit failure] Jamie turns around to see Handy thrown to the ground at her feet. "I believe this runt is yours?" says an angry-looking blue haired woman with some kind of azure serpent next to her. She walks off in a huff.

    [pickup used for today]

No need to scan pokemon unless you want to know about them, going to use a house rule that levels from scanning are based on pokemon encountered.

Jamie has encountered the wingull species at this point. Interacting with a wild, or battling with a wild or trainer-owned pokemon will count as "encountering" the pokemon. Unless you're a researcher you still need to scan the pokemon to know the pokedex info, however.

(also note that Spoit was talking to me about looking for a pokemon to styler to look for Handy with, and rolled rather high on an encounter roll to even find a wild pokemon at these docks)

The sailors of the S.S. Mantine, the smaller craft that transported Jon, laugh heartily and insist that Jon get off first when he waits for them to get off. After all, he was the guest of honor. <Never earned so much $P for transporting one kid! What a score!> thinks one of the sailors. <And with some free shore leave at Sevii!>

They cheer and wave as Nemo races off the boat, Jon pursuing him.

Unlike the cruise liners the Orre boat is rather small, and Jon was the sole passenger.

Gonna move on to the next segment once every player has posted at least once, or sometime tomorrow. Feel free to interact with each other on the docks in the meantime though.

Ripley was too busy rubbing out the disorienting flash from someone's flash before he could properly look at the large building looming above them.

"WOW! Already away from Kanto for more than a week, and this place looks so... awesome than what the brochure gives it justice to!" He checks back to the brochure the people were given so gratuitously by the cruise ship's staff less than a few days ago, when they boarded the ship proper.

<Heh! Hard to believe that more than a week ago, I was busy helping out Mr. Fuji, and now look at me! Halfway across the ocean! I bet that old fart is just laughing at me right now...> Ripley thought to himself. He looked at the Devon Ticket he held in his other hand. <And it's all thanks to this little thing. Not that I'm really in to that tecno mumbo stuff...>

As he stares at the others making their way towards the gates, the young man sighs to himself. <Well, nothing ventured, nothing gained!>

Just as Ripley was about to move, he was suddenly interrupted by the two strangers walking past him. He puffs up his face, disgusted by the impolite ways of some people.

<Well, that's just rude! You could at least say a hello while you were at it!>

He stared at all the strange Pokemon the people had following with them. <Gosh, look at all of them! Is that a Porygon?! Man, that guy must've sold his left kidney to get something rare like that! And look at that kid's squirtle! Wow, just wow! There's even some I haven't even seen in my life! I hope there's some good Ghost-types around here...>

"Speaking of Ghosts... let's get going, Forte! Before the chef of the ship realizes that some of his 'stock' went missing last night, and starts questioning people about it. I mean REALLY now... how could a ghost even eat so..." Ripley stops in mid-sentence, and looks around.

    Forte was nowhere in sight.

    "Forte?"

The silence was shattered, as a young woman screamed at the top of her lungs, swinging her Baseball bat around like some sort of... well... stick against some orb-like thing that was floating about. An oddly familiar-looking orb-like thing...

As Ripley moved closer to investigate, he finally realized what the dabacle was about: seems Forte was busy harassing the girl's strange looking Pokemon (which looked like a mini version of Snorlax) nearby. Guess the lass didn't find FOrte that charming.

"Damn it all, Forte!", Ripley sighed under his breath, as he made his way closer, towards the spectacle.

<What a way to start things off now...> *Sigh*

Nice to see you all. Really excited to be here.

    Mitch Raimer - porygon_tiny.png

Mitch and his Porygon both spot the sign at the same time, through a gap in the crowd: 'DEVON TICKET'. "There's our bearing, I guess! Think you can clear a path, Pei?"

"Por! Gon gonry." The square not-quite-a-duck pushes ahead of Mitch, and slowly moves towards the DEVON TICKET gate, using his cubed-off snout as a makeshift cow-catcher. He's not impolite about it, but... The longer they're in the crowd, the longer it takes to get to adventure! Besides, he's tired of the view of nothing but human legs and wooden dock.

His human follows behind, trying to keep up with Pei's quickly-dissipating wake through the throng, though his attention is caught by the bright light of a Ranger's styler in the sky. "Wow. Haven't ever seen a styler in action! Serious business if there's a Ranger about."

I'll be making a sheet for myself on the wiki sometime today, since all the cool kids seem to have already done it. (EDIT: Done!)

Turning a bit crimson faced after hearing the sailors cheering of the S.S. Mantine cheer as he departs the ship Jon waves back at them and mumbles a quick farewell. He'd never gotten much attention from people outside of his family back home and it was a bit unnerving to him. After all his mother was the famous trainer, and he was just her youngest child.

"Gotcha!" Plucking the tiny darting form of Nemo up into the air before his pokemon can crash into any of the other passengers moving down the dock. Jon places Nemo back on the ground and pats him on the head. "Sorry but you can't go running off by yourself buddy, I don't want to lose you."

Nemo looks up at Jon and nods. "Squirt."

The two of them set off down the wooden dock at a much more sedate pace. Now that he isn't sprinting after his pokemon Jon starts noticing a few other people in the crowd have pokemon of their own. A pastel colored mechanical bird is rolling down the dock, and ahead an older boy is standing beneath a gate with a Machop. <I wonder what that kind of pokemon that bird thing is? I guess I shouldn't be surprised to see something like that here though. Devon Corp probably attracts trainers with that sort of pokemon.>

Hefting his backpack down off of his shoulder Jon fishes out his pokedex, a small red model he'd dubbed Simon during the sea voyage, and leveled it at the bird-like pokemon.
