i've never read Declare but i read Last Call and Expiration Date and they were all excellent
Sweet.
I was directed to Declare while reading wikis about the early history of the CIA. Time travel, mysticism, and spycraft seemed like an interesting premise.
Also, if relativity is to be believed, you could theoretically build a spaceship that travels at near-light speed, take a 20-year trip somewhere else in the universe and a 20-year trip back and less than 40 years would have taken place on Earth, thus traveling into the past, sort of!

Everyone should make a secret safety word that only you know so if you ever meet your time traveling self you can know that they are the real deal and not a killer robot.

time dilation is not the same as time travel
Hence the "sort of"
At least I didn't make some sort of cell phones in the past claim
I like the episode where Sam is in Veitnam and thinks he's there to save his brother and Al disagrees but is vague about the person he really should be rescuing. It also has Patrick Warburton water skiing by being pulled by a helicopter. I think Wayne's girlfriend from the Wayne's World movies was in it too.
At the end, Sam manages to save his brother but...
A reporter lady dies and it turns out that saving his brother wasn't supposed to be Sam's mission. He was supposed to save the person Al was trying to get him to save, which was actually the past version of Al who was captured and going to spend years as a POW (thus causing his first wife to move on since she thought he was dead), but Al didn't tell Sam all of that so that he could save his brother instead.

Looking into the sky (especially at night) extends this by minutes to millenia
It's the opposite of disc 4 of Final Fantasy 8.
besides, cellphone reception was terrible in 1928
I thought that worked the other way around
that sequel to ender's game told me all about it.
Hence the "sort of"

He's there to save Charlie Chaplin.
A cellphone wouldn't even work in the 1920s. She's probably like "what the hell I'm in the middle of a city and there's no service!"
