So I want to do a roadtrip with some of my friends across the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, and I was wondering which states are the prettiest / most entertaining / have the less rednecks?
We're going to California for sure, and we might go to Florida (but only because ive got a house there)
Doing a roadtrip across Canada is also an option, but beside BC i dont know if theres a lot to visit.
And what about you guys? Do you have some trip projects? Is there a particular country you'd like to visit? Have you been to interesting places in your life?
I would suggest visiting Maine, except it look nice in the summer and early fall. Also, everywhere you go will be nice looking and filled with rednecks (Baxter National Park) or nice looking and horribly commercialized and overpriced (the seacoast).
SLyM on
My friend is working on a roguelike game you can play if you want to. (It has free demo)
Id avoid kansas and idaho and iowa. Kansas city ans st.louis are tops. Indiana has the dunes park, pretty fall colors, and if you visit chicago there's tons to do and its the best city.
Avoid Texas? Are you a silly goose or something? Drive through the pan handle and night and actually see the milky way, go through the hill country and visit Austin, and then head up north to pass through Dallas and the piney woods of East Texas.
Texas is beautiful and the people are super awesome and friendly.
Now Alabama, that is a place to be avoided.
[edit] I'll also second Indiana. Take the southern part of the state and visit Bloomington for the best food/scenery in the land and see Brown county in all it's amazing fall splendor.

Were skipping Maine, we've been there many times and its basically Québec the USA version

What I hear from Texas is that its a racists overweight state with a lot of intolerant people.

Its also what I learn in college
this is indeed the popular opinion of it, and the fine people of Dallas, Ft. Worth and Alamosa don't do much to disprove it
I have met some wonderful people in Austin and Lubbock, though, and it's a fun drive. Especially especially coming from the east -- after the claustrophobia of the east coast out to Tennessee, it's great to hit the panhandle and just fucking floor it
