Cripes, just how huge is the gap between Lt. Colonel 3 and Commander? It makes me not even want to play after I finish the daily challenges because I need at least 2000 cR from a game to make any noticeable progress.

60k cR. Honestly with the tweaks to credits it didn't feel that long to me

or maybe it's because I stopped caring about ranking up after I finished getting the achievements

either way it didn't feel as bad as the WO3 grind

yeah, I'm probably averaging a solid evening (3 hours or so) of playing every 3-4 days and I'm about halfway to commander. It's not that bad. The WO3 grind, I was playing about 3-5 hours a night for a solid week and a half before I was done with that.

Also, I'll be putting my Xbox in storage until god knows when at the end of the month, so you bastards better give me good clips to render in the interim.

    Thanks!

Also, I just solved a little Halo mystery. In some post game carnage report, the kill totals were not adding up.
    http://www.bungie.net/Stats/Reach/GameStats.aspx?gameid=316350438&player=RatSult2
for example. If you add up our total kills, we got to 92 (game ends at 75). The reason behind this is, for whatever reason, the game counts killing a ghost (or any vehicle) as 2 kills. It's only counted this way for the post game carnage report... you don't get a double kill for killing a ghost, the in game score doesn't go up twice.

I looked at that film and totaled my kills. 6 enemies on foot, 8 enemies in vehicles (ghosts/wraiths/revenant, all occupied by a single person). If you count the vehicles as doubles, that totals 22, which matches the carnage report. You should note that I had one betrayal (sorry Viscount), so my "score" is 13 (14 real kills, -1 for betrayal).

What is really interesting is it gave me a perfection for this match. A perfection is 15+ kills and no deaths. Counting the real kills, I had 14, I didn't get a running riot medal. I guess for the perfection medal, it only looks at the post game carnage report.

So I just found out that one of my favorite manga authors, Tsutomu Nihei, actually wrote and drew the short story for the Halo graphic novel where Johnson escapes the Flood Containment Facility. This is awesome. Why? Because Tsutomu Nihei's goddamn specialty is writing manga where lone gunmen wander through incredibly well drawn and massive alien/cyberpunk structures the size of small planets while escaping amorphous entities that effectively amount to cybergoth Cthulhu.

Way to be a team player guy.
Nothing makes me more annoyed than teammates who do that.

My favorite are the guys who shoot me because I got a weapon before them or a weapon they wanted. It's like, what in the fucking world is going through their heads that they literally deserve every fucking weapon they want, and if they don't get their way they get to make your life miserable?

Yeah, it's something to do with engine carryover from ODST or something. Vehicles in Firefight counted as in-game kills, too (you'd get a double for killing a Banshee, for example).

Hey guys, I made another map. Not worth putting pictures up yet, but here's Stocktorium:

    http://www.bungie.net/Stats/Reach/FileDetails.aspx?fid=9677135&player=FyreWulff%20Rex

    (or check your Recommendations)

A map designed around Stockpile. Works great with 2 teams, but was also made in mind for 4 teams. I'm not exactly sure how I want to break up the vis lines for the outside 'ring' yet. Inside death alley will probably be tweaked aswell.

I took the feedback from the first test and made changes for those that already played it. The ambigous ramps on the inside are gone, replaced by ramps on all four sides on the outside.

Give it a look around and tell me what you think

I always wondered if that had anything to do with it. Though getting a triple kill for lasering a Wraith is kinda nice.

Does quitting out of your own Score Attack rounds count against the jackpot? A few times I've played Gruntpocalypse, then been so engrossed in the postgame carnage data that I forget the game was expecting me to vote for another round until "beep... beep... beep... ding!" and by that point it's too late to back out.

I just checked one of them out and its pretty silly. Unlimited ammo no reload, unlimited jet pack, invincibility and invisibility and wave after wave of the highest ranking elites. Then there's the bonus round of tons of the
elites coming at you. I got like 5 killionaires.

Definitely the easy way to get the challenge, but is it even possible to get a legitimate 1mil?
I didn't think firefight games lasted that long

So I don't really get why they decided to treat the plasma launcher as the covy rocket launcher when the FRC is such a better fit (the plasma launcher being more like the laser).

I mean, I remember reading pre-reach that they had no plans of including the FRC in matchmaking, but . . . there it is on Spire.

I think it's likely because the plasma launcher locks on to vehicles like the rocket launcher, whereas the fuel rod does not.

They really killed the Plasma Launcher.

In beta it was an interesting weapon, slightly difficult and situational, but beautiful when used right, and turned it into a poor mans rocket launcher. Even in campaign.
