    hey fashion thread!

I realized today that I am in need of replacing my 5 year old swim trunks. I am a thin dude, so please recommend me so quality and fashionable swimwear

also, I don't tan too easily

This should hopefully help you out a bit.

    http://www.gq.com/how-to/fashion/200906/swim-suit-bathing-shopping-slideshow

their advice mainly seems to be

    1) Have abs

You could try this style if you can find it:
    mens-vintage-swimwear.jpg
Or you could try the "men's topper" style:
    1920.jpg
    Or the "speed suit:"

    Or a plain classic:

The problem with swimsuits is that nice ones which don't have the same amount of fabric as a skirt cost $Delaware and cheap ones are both baggy and horrible looking. This is the closest to something nice I could find that was actually sort of reasonably priced.

What I'd really like is something more fitted like this perhaps. Only, you know, not $60.

Seriously. There's a swimsuit on that one site that was $345

Sorry, but I have better things than a swimsuit to spend that money on. Like food and shelter.

    Help me fashion thread!

So, I need some new shirts, but I want proper shirts, not blouses with limp collars, but I'm also a poor student so can't afford to go to Pink or somewhere like that and drop 200+ quid on shirts.

Any ideas? I also have a fairly large bust and am a bit of a fatty so hipster skinny stuff is not going to work. And I'm nearly 30 and really don't want to look like mutton dressed as lamb.

i hate the pants tho. sorry. they fit you just fine but the color is just awful to me.

    This

I mean, maybe you could make the pants work, but you need to match them differently.

I would say try them cuffed up to half-calf, or so, with loafers (no socks) or summery-sneakers (H&M is my favorite place for dirt-cheap canvas sneakers that are super cleanly styled and come in a nice variety of colors/patterns).

As for a shirt to go with that -- I'm not really sure, honestly. It's going to be hard to match to that. I'd say maybe try a madras patten with laid-back colors? Or maybe a subdued floral of some kind.

Seven for all mankind is 98% cotton and 2% spandex.

I'm pretty sure that is what the gods wear.

Seriously, these are the most comfortable jeans I've ever worn. So soft.

Edit: But, Naked and Famous shows up on Gilt ever once in a while.

    Don't know about Nudie.

    That's a pretty standard composition.

I just prefer the styling on Nudie and Naked & Famous. The quality is also better, I feel -- I think Seven trades a little more heavily on their name than those other two brands.

Yeah they're super expensive. You can find them for about $500 US. The 19 cm is just pretty much the perfect jean, though. When I'm not fucking unemployed I'll be saving up for a pair.

But, I mean, they're expensive because they're a top-tier design house. Not having heard of Christian Dior is like not having heard of Versace or Prada or something.

Now, I love the balls out of Tres Bien, but I get that these might not be to everyone's taste. Anyway, some summer pant recommendations from their site:

    http://www.tresbienshop.net/brand/apc/army-chino-dark-khaki-1
http://www.tresbienshop.net/brand/apc/army-chino-dark-navy-1 -- I feel like for basics like chinos & khakis, A.P.C. is always a solid choice.

http://www.tresbienshop.net/brand/post-overalls/menpolinin-short-calico-print-green -- Floral shorts are a nice summer touch, especially with floral being so big this season

I don't know if you're looking for regular slacks as well, but I like these from APC
    http://www.tresbienshop.net/brand/apc/pants-anthracite

    http://www.tresbienshop.net/brand/wings-horns/chino-pant-olive -- Nice chinos from W+H

http://www.tresbienshop.net/brand/barena/cotton-chino-dark-khaki -- These are sold out but a cropped khaki is something to think about. I know the whole cropped/cuffed/rolled thing is a little played out, but as long as you're not overdoing it with workwear steez I feel like it's OK. And it's very summer.

http://www.tresbienshop.net/brand/patrik-ervell/formal-pants-khaki-cotton-twill -- Also in the highwater department, the always wonderful Patrik Ervell. The cut on these is just magnificent. Fucker always runs small. I feel like a fatass every time I put on a pair of Ervells.

And thank god these are sold out: http://www.tresbienshop.net/brand/junya-watanabe-man/yarn-dyed-cotton-chino -- Because $700 is a lot of money for a pair of chinos but christ I would pay it if I had the cash. Junya can do no wrong in my eyes. <3<3<3<3

Hey there fashion thread, how's it going?

I'm pretty good. I bought a seersucker suit for all the summer weddings I'm going to, and as a bonus I'm also in the South so I can get good regular use out of it if I see fit. I'm working on putting together the whole ensemble as the first of these weddings is coming up. Sadly, alterations on the suit won't be done in time for me test it all out together until just a day or two before I have to go.

    Here's my plan so far:

I got the white and tan pinstripe which looks thusly: Haspel Seersucker!

I bought these shoes which are in the mail now: Saddleback Oxfords!

So now comes phase three. What shirt should I wear under? I'm thinking something like this:

    erez_004.jpeg

Pink is a really appealing idea, but I think it would look too Miami Vice and not Southern elegance.

What color belt? Or suspenders? Tie? No tie? Bow Tie?

    UNC_STRPE__96966_zoom.jpg

I don't want to go overboard and try too hard. I'd rather not look like I'm on my way to a reenactment or something. But it's hard to know for sure what to do when I don't have everything in front of me. I suppose I can just acquire everything I'm thinking about and then I can put it together in different ways for different events.

    Thoughts, fashion thread?
