    I'll be the first one to admit that the Phils will miss Werth behind Howard but I'm not too worried about the bats. If everyone stays healthy they'll be fine.

    Dom's not quite ready for full time but platooning with someone who can actually hit lefties would be fine with me. The boy does look good at times though.

    In the last hour or so since I last obsessively checked on Nats news, they apparently traded Josh Willingham to the A's for two players, one of whom reportedly has major league experience.

    I really liked Willingham, he was super nice when I met him.

    Nationals get RHP Henry Rodriguez and minor-league OF Corey Brown in deal for Willingham

    23 year old right-hander Henry Rodriguez is 1-0 with a 4.55 ERA in 27.2 innings of work out of the bullpen last year for the A's.

    This is what Athletics Nation said about him in the Winter Leagues in November:
    Oakland sent a lot of mediocre AAA roster-filling pitchers to the winter leagues this year, and it shows, as most of them have middling strikeout rates and mediocre walk rates. The only notable guy is flamethrower Henry Rodriguez, who is doing his usual act—he's striking out almost thirteen batters per nine innings, while walking over four. He is what he is, I suppose.

    Now for the other guy, wait, no I'm the only person here who gives a shit about the Nats.

    Cubs apparently sign Kerry Wood to a one year, $1.5 million dollar deal. I don't think they really need more pitching, but at that price, why not?

    Also, as a Yankees fan, I'm a bit scared about this upcoming season. No big free agent signings, Pettitte leaning to retirement. Martin's signing gives me a little hope.

    No downside to the Martin signing. Him being there keeps the pressure off the younger catchers (specifcally Montero) of being the next Jorge while the real Jorge DHs
