    Honestly, if I had donated (I didn't) I wouldn't have wanted his name to change more than temporarily anyway.

    So, this worked out amazingly from my point of view.

    Now he can pop into threads occasionally as Stepdad without the novelty of it wearing off.

    I don't know about vB, but in every forum software I've used, you make a new user group with the desired avatar and characteristics (post timer, title, etc.). vB is weird in a lot of ways though.

    Yeah, it's the same, in vB4 at least, this is a heavily modified vB3.

    You create an infraction group, and a user group with the permissions and display options you want. When a user is placed in that group, either manually or by racking up infraction points, it overrides the display and permissions with that of the selected group.

    At least it changes the name on every post to date, including rules threads that everyone reads (RIGHT?) into his new name.

    And who says he'll never use it? Maybe, if the time is right and the wind is blowing the scent of fresh hyacinths through the air and you wish just hard enough, LewieP's Stepdad will appear in your thread and taunt you mercilessly.
