Kind of disappointed they aren't doing big group gifting packs like with the Thanksgiving sale. Now it's harder for me to buy stuff for folk :p

$30 bucks? That's like the Steam Holiday sale cover charge. Deus Ex, an indie pack here and there, SMB for yourself and a friend and BAM!, it's only been 10 minutes and you're already heading back to the ATM with the $7 processing fee. Then you sit back down and nod to L4D2 to come on over and do a dance. Suddenly, you're all out of ones again and it's 2 in the morning while you click "refresh" over and over again.

I'm going to keep it to just five bucks for Tomb Raider Anniversary (it's not a daily, but I don't see it going much cheaper) for today and wait and see if Civ 5 doesn't go on a daily sale later on.

Funny how the Tomb Raider reboot announcement got me in the mood to give this a go. Marketing!

Was it representative of how the sale's normally work? No. Am I still bitter about it? Yes.

I still don't have a copy of the Witcher as a result.

This cannot be limed enough. I am still angry about this one. And they still refuse to put it up again as a sale... *sigh*

Disappointed Underworld isn't even cheaper. I was hoping for a pack of some kind with all the TR titles in. I am not happy. :(

I'm suspecting something related to TFU2 - it was briefly up at 50% off and is now back to full price, maybe the publisher didn't want it on sale or made part of bundle packs, but the $99 price was from a moment in time when it was still part of the pack?

I kind of like the "holiday catalog" presentation for the daily deals, but it's also annoying because I have to click each picture to find out what game it is if I can't tell from the picture itself :( I wish they'd put titles on there.

    Just mouse over them.

Is the PC version of SMB compatible with the 360 controller?

I ask because from what I've heard, it sounds like the sort of experience that really demands a controller.

It is. The first thing you see when you load up the game is a picture of the 360 controller and a random phrase like

Keyboard vs. gamepad you be the judge! (spoiler gamepad wins)

    or

First person to say keyboard controls are better gets a punch in the face!

SNES via USB adapter is the proper way to play 2D platformers on the PC.

And man, there are at least 2 indie packs I'm seriously considering, although I wish both Geometry Wars and Everyday Shooter were in the same pack so I wouldn't have to snag both the 2D and the Flight pack.

Although Geometry Wars alone is cheaper than the pack, and I don't really have much of an interest in the other games in the 2D pack, so maybe I'm off the hook.

Also, now I have to figure out how to hook up a 360 controller to my PC. Anyone have any advice? I'm assuming step one is to acquire a 360 controller, step two is to get a USB cable for it, and step three involves magic.
