Todd & The Book Of Pure Evil (Canadian humor thats good!)

No seriously!
Don't mind the voiceover, I can only assume they wanted to do the cheesiest thing they could. And yes, the councilor just decked a pregnant woman in the face.

So the synopsis of this delicious TV show is as follows (Copied shamelessly from Wiki):

Todd, Curtis, Jenny, and Hannah are students at Crowley High, the only high school in a small town secretly founded by Satanists. After encountering a cursed magical tome with a mind of its own, the Book of Pure Evil, which grants the wishes of those who hold it in dark and sinister ways they didn't intend, they team up in an attempt to track down and destroy the Book, although it has an unfortunate tendency to fly away after its spells are undone. Each episode revolves around a student at Crowley High using the Book to try and make their life better, though this usually results in chaos, mayhem, and bloodshed at the school. Todd and his gang then fight against whatever the Book has done, and try to keep Crowley High from being totally destroyed. Supposedly friendly school guidance counsellor Atticus Murphy helps them in their quest to destroy the Book, though secretly he is a member of the cabal of Satanists who run the town from behind the scenes, and has been tasked with returning the Book of Pure Evil to the leader of the cultists, who happens to be his own father.

The series just finished broadcasting its first (13 episode) season, and there isn't a non-hilarious episode in the bunch. If you enjoy majestic scenery, high brow humor, and incredible acting, you should just leave this thread right now.

BUT! If you enjoy off quilter wacky hijinks with NO BOUNDRIES AT ALL (One episode has a guy wishing for a bigger dick, it becomes a talking, giant snake thing (Still attached) that turns people to stone medusa style) awesome one liners, characters that grow on you like some sort of fungus, and you want to sit down and laugh for an entire season straight, check it out!

Have you seen this show? (Probably not)

Did you like this show? (Probably!)

ARE YOU PUMPED AND WANT THE SECOND SEASON TO BE ANNOUNCED!? (Maybe?)

Seriously, its amazing, check it out, report back here with your findings. Its quite possibly the best thing out of Canada since Maple Syrup and top hats.

Streaming goodness for those interested (No idea if it works outside Canada):

I watched the first episode, it was really funny. I seem to be having trouble finding most of the episodes.

This show is better than 95 percent of all US television.

It only gets better. After watching the entire series, and going back to the first episode, I was shocked.

First couple of times this show popped on my TV I was like "wtf is this shit" and flicked.

After a couple more times of actually leaving it on, ive come to the conclusion that its not that bad of a show.

It's not a bad after-school comedy. Not super intelligent, but decent entertainment nonetheless. Always good to see something worth watching on Canadian TV.

This show is so great; yeah the monsters have a hokey look to them but it totally works. further, Atticus has some of the most amazing lines ever. Such as!

"How do you know what my penis looks like?"

    And!

"I wasn't aware you could fail an apptitude test."

Seriously, this show is so well done considering it was shot on a virtually non-existent budget.

I had the same response as Al_wat to the show. Once I realized it was Troma, 'cept a whole season's worth, I was in.

Guess which episode made me like the show.

I actually saw this show air a few months ago when it started. It was pretty funny for a little canadian show, one i will be damned if i can find anywhere to download and it is hard to locate the times for. Worth a sitting around with nothing to watch time for sure

The snake dick. Troma has used a giant penis monster a couple times (although the only use of it I can properly recall is Tromeo & Juliet).

Also all the props in Todd and Troma are such delighfully hoaky pieces of plastic and rubber.

I get a Metalocalypse vibe off of it for some reason. Must be the gratuitous violence to background metal music.

As for good Canadian comedy, Leslie Nielsen is looking at you sternly, from the great beyond.

'You already started reading the evil words didn't you?'
    'Uhhh yea...'
'Can you hand me my blood mop? I'm going to need it later.'

He's got some pretty great lines for a small time character, although its hinted he'd have a bigger role in the second season.

I'm pretty sure it's only viewable from in Canada.

And thanks for making the thread. I saw the commercials for the show on Space back when it premiered and for the 12 Days of Spacemas but didn't really think I'd like it. Gave it a shot after seeing this thread pop-up and I was really surprised at how good it was. Watched the whole season in a day and got my brother to start watching it. It definitely better get a second season.

Edit: Based off the show's website it sounds like they are making a second season.

Also they have a youtube page with some a short, sometimes really short, extended/alternate/outtake clip for each episode.
