wake up in the morning and my breath ain't pretty
nobody's gonna kiss me if my mouth smells shitty
so I always brush my teeth before I start on the jack
sure my drinking's out of hand but I'm controlling my plaque
Ha ha, Yes!
I guess I can understand how people could like her music, just realize it's not her that's making it...at best she's a glorified spokesperson.

welcome to music?
you know elvis never wrote any of his popular songs either, right?
just enjoy it if it's catchy. who cares who wrote it? someone, somewhere, wrote it. maybe it's not the person singing it, maybe they're just a performer. go along with a song if you like it. that's what music is supposed to be about, just enjoying the way a song makes you feel. it's a big world out there. there's room for poppy, sugary hits and there's room for soulful, moving ballads. there's room for collaborative projects between sound engineers and producers and there's room for solo artists with nothing other than a guitar and raw feeling.
Yeah, I heard you good with them soft lips
Yeah, you know word of mouth
The square root of 69 is 8 something, right?
'Cause I've been tryna to work it out, ooooow
TiK ToK is one of the best songs of the last decade, no doubt in my mind.
What's your definition of 'best?' What is your metric of quality?
Catchiness, memorability, the ability to make one's arms and hips move without one's conscious control.
I'm a songwriter. It's really fucking hard to write an incredibly catchy, worldwide number 1 pop hit. Very, very hard. That doesn't mean a number one song needs to be respected just by virtue of being number one (O.M.G. by Usher/Will.I.Am comes to mind. I don't like that song at all). But I happen to think Tik Tok is incredibly catchy and very melodic, with an incredible amount of energy and payoff. It's really, really good.
What are the original lyrics? I'm too lazy to look them up myself.
Wake up in the morning feeling like P Diddy
Put my glasses on, I’m out the door I’m gonna hit this city
Before I leave, brush my teeth with a bottle of Jack
Cause when I leave for the night, I ain’t coming back
Yeah, I heard you good with them soft lips

I am amused that Haynes became sufficiently exasperated by the flood of chinese import motorcycles, all of which are copies of one of about 4 or 5 honda and yamaha models, that they just gave up and published one maintenance guide for "Chinese, Taiwanese and Korean 125cc four stroke motorcycles".

I prefer Munroe's lyrics, honestly. They're wittier and more coherent.

I'm also a musician, but I'm imagining that I'm probably far less successful than you.
I guess, yeah, I'm a musical elitist. Cuz, jesus god, that's bad music.

By "songwriter" I just mean I write songs. Not that I'm in any way successful with them.
Good and bad are only meaningful relative to the person or persons making the judgement; one person's best song of the decade is another person's garbage, and neither is objectively correct or incorrect. Arguing for a universal good or bad is the height of

Eh, like I said, I've been super-nerd-rage guy for a couple days.
But as one musician to another, I really hope you realise you've probably got quite a bit more raw talent than the people responsible for Tik Tok.

This is true because of the first sentence in this post.

There are some songs that just win the number one lottery. Soulja Boy Tell Em or whatever the fuck that song is called falls in that category.
TiK ToK, as much as you might hate everything about it, is not one of those songs. Everything about it was beautifully crafted. Can Kesha sing? Actually, she kind of can, but that's besides the point. She's not singing on that track because it was made that way. It's got the crunchiest, trendiest synth I've ever heard. It's produced really well. It appeals to all the right demographics and it's fun.

The producer and principle songwriter of Tik Tok was Dr. Luke, whose other hits include "Since You've Been Gone," sung by Kelly Clarkson, "Who Knew," sung by Pink, both "I Kissed a Girl" and "Hot and Cold" sung by Katy Perry, "Party in the U.S.A." by Miley Cyrus, "Dynamite" sung by Taio Cruz, and Kesha's newest "We R Who We R."
I would be ecstatic if I had the ability to write even a single song in my life that is anywhere near as catchy, singable, or energetic as just one of those songs.
So no, I am nowhere near as talented as Dr. Luke. He's fucking incredible.

I choose not to recognize it, because it's exactly the sort of unnatural liberal nonsense you get when you elect a ferner like Barry Soetoro
Auto-tune was invented for people like you.

being drunk and hearing the start of something awful like Barbara Streisand is the best thing ever
And this is how we get kesha.
I've realised that I've been Captain Rage for the last few days. Like, I was just about to rant like mufucka, then caught myself.

So, then, all the really shitty music that was really popular was good?
Ok.
