Should have read Scrooge. He's the bad ass of that family.

Absolutely. Carl Barks was such an enormously gifted genius that despite their best efforts Disney couldn't keep him anonymous. Everyone in comics acknowledges their debt to him.

Donald Duck was like the umbrella magazine but the actual could be Scrooge or whatever, Scrooge by Don Rosa was obviously the best thing.

You really need to give some context with these

i don't know them all and it makes me sad

    Top to bottom:

Kurt Busiek's Avengers (2001ish) - they just fought their way through an entire country of Ultron robots and now shit gets real.

X-Men: The Dark Phoenix Saga (early 80s) - the Hellfire Club thought they'd kicked all the X-Men's asses, but they forgot one...

Avengers #100something (mid-70s) - The android Vision sees the girl he loves with another dude

JLA: Rock of Ages (mid-90s) - Darkseid, the god of evil, showing up on Earth

Watchmen #11 - the good guys are too late!

Flex Mentallo #4 - the good guys aren't too late.

Infinity Gauntlet (early 1990s) - Thanos destroys the entire universe, but he forgot Captain America

Secret Wars (1984) - Dr. Doom kills god, basically, and steals his power. Because he is DOOM.

Fantastic Four #100something - Thing is boxing for the survival of the human race

Captain America #whatever - is hilarious

Miracleman (mid-1980s) - the rampage of the evil former Kid Miracleman has been stopped and he has reverted to his innocent childhood self, but there's only one way to make sure it won't happen again....

"For the Man Who Has Everything" (mid-1980s) - you can push Superman too far

Judge Dredd (mid-80s) - versus Judge Death. "Gaze into the face of death!"

Top 10 #12 (late 90s) - the entire police precinct versus a cosmic criminal

Love and Rockets - at a punk show!

    Spider-man - One More Day

Okay. I wasn't really trying to quote a meme or be cool, it's more of a lingering occasional verbal habit.

To me, 70's New York is the quintessential Spider-Man backdrop. You've got the water towers on brownstone apartments that haven't yet been gentrified, dangerous porno theaters and slums, big gas-guzzling cars on the streets. Hippie teenagers, earnest black cops, dangerous thugs, and greasy gangsters.

Travis Bickle or the Son of Sam feel kind of like Spider-Man villains in a way.
