Sounds like fun.
It's kind of hilarious to me how many people love to attack this show with so much vitriol and no apparent sense of irony. Reminds me of Stephen Fry's talk about the pleasures of swearing, specifically people that complain that swearing isn't necessary. Our lives are full of things that aren't necessary but still enrich our lives. If you don't enjoy TAL, no biggie. But if you have to rant about how terrible and pointless it is or how much you hate his voice, seems you need some perspective.

No, it's not always neutral, but yes, it is often a news program. (though much of the news is human interest or general knowledge stuff rather than strict reporting on major recent events)
It's just a news show that obviously injects editorial at certain moments.
i don't think i would call it a news program, because to me that implies that it is reporting on something that is... new?
the segments take a long time to create so it's more like a documentary than a news program, i think
documentaries are rarely impartial either, even if some try to be more than others
i'd still stick with documentary
journalism implies impartiality but there are certainly plenty of "journalists" that don't fit the mold
