I'm sure it's been there for ages, but I just noticed the e-mail subscription box at the top of the PA mainsite.
I dropped my e-mail in and clicked the button. It spun for a while before I got this error message:
"Thanks a lot. You broke our website. We are angry. An obliterator-class huntroid has been dispatched."
I am being excluded from a prestigious group of Internet pioneers by the dark whim of a scheming machine.
edit: The error code is 500
edit: It looks like the subscription did go through.
There are a few more hiding around the site. Example!
Wait--January 13th isn't a real date? Looks like I've got to get a refund on this desk calendar.
It's like the 13th floor. They just skip it.
On a more serious note, didn't Tycho write those error messages? Or am I just misremembering things?
You remember right.
We usually offer special codes to people who subscribe, early access to merchandise / PAX tickets / etc.
You should probably link the words, "Want Penny Arcade Spam?" to a description of what kind of spam we exactly get. This is the first I have heard that you offer deals though your mailer.
