I'll belive that this game is actually real when I put it in my X-box and not 1 second before.
For all we know, those discs have garbage code on them.
I'd expect an 8.5 GB JPG of a troll face. Or, given the lag time between development and release, a Rickroll on a continuous loop.
But seriously, I hope this release date is the solid honest, and Gearbox can deliver. Even if it feels like I'll be losing a part of my past by actually having the game come out.
I guess it's time to stock up on canned food, since the world will end on May 3rd.

In related news, it's been getting cold here. Hm!
This seems a little soon for the game switching owner-hands. I worry it's going to be a 'meh' or even a bad game, but people are going to be stroking it to Duke so their perception will be skewed.

Dammit. I owe FyreWulf a copy of this due to a bet I lost like two and a half years ago. Guess it's almost time to pay up.

The game was apparently almost finished when Gearbox took over, and according to them they've basically had to just piece everything together and apply the finishing touches. I'm not worried on it having switched hands, although skepticism for the project in general is certainly normal. Regardless, it's Duke Nukem. I can't not play it!

OH SHIT! Is this that trailer that they absolutely wouldn't let us see during the PAX livecast? I was beginning to think that trailer was an elaborate ruse, since months later we still hadn't seen it. I guess they did eventually release it.
It's post-apocalyptic. Why? The 2001 trailer was apocalyptic, and more interesting for it. Put simply, I'd rather watch the neon signs of Las Vegas get smashed to bits, instead of trudging through the broken glass years later.

It's obvious: The apocalypse took place in 2001, and now we're 10 years later. You think just because the game was still being developed time wasn't moving forward?

I'm not proud of it, but I had a good chuckle at Duke crying, "Why do they always take the hot ones?!"
I do think the best form of humor in the game, in addition to gratuitous violence, sex, etc., is when Duke does something totally unlike a dignified, respectable, or for that matter, super-powered human being. Kind of returning back to the time when he started out as an average Joe who saved the world (as was the case in the first game, way back), and became an average Joe with a tremendous ego.

I would also like some tongue-in-cheek humour, like in that leaked gameplay footage where he comes across a challenge and says "Fuck, not another puzzle!" I don't think it's possible to play Duke straight at this stage, so just surrendering to the absurd levels of teenage masculinity is the way to go.
Oh man, that new trailer looks amazing. I'm going into this game the same way I went into the move The Expendables. It's going to be an over the top throw back to a simpler time, and I'm going to smile and enjoy the hell out of it!!
Can't wait. But like others, I don't actually believe it'll be released till I shoot the first Pig Cop in the head at my PC!

I do want to see an angry response to something even vaguely puzzle-like--basically, an expansion on the old Duke 3D line "Where is it?" that Duke would unhappily, and irritably, mumble if you kept hitting the spacebar. That needs to return, definitely, but I want to see more in that vein. For example, if you have to do something seemingly tedious and un-action hero like to go through a level--for example, your first trek through the sewer, Duke should express his displeasure. "Goddamn it, it's always a fucking sewer level." or "Great, another walk through shit to save the human race." or something more biting.
I also--and this might just be me--wouldn't mind seeing more parody of other games (also appeared in Duke 3D) in the same spirit. For example, you use something to make a wormhole appear that Duke travels through to some distant location for the first time, and he says something like, "Whoa, holy shit!" because, hey, it's a wormhole and it almost messed up his sunglasses. But the next time, you use a similar tool to make a wormhole that merely gets you five meters across an impassable obstacle (like a steel wall or a some super-hard glass), that Duke can clearly see both sides, and it really shouldn't be an obstacle, otherwise.
In that case, I want Duke to say something to the effect of, "Great. Now I'm fucking thinking with portals. Happy now?" in an angry, sardonic voice.

Still, that Randy Pitchford is a swell chap. Regardless of quality I'll be getting it day one.
Randy Pitchford has to be the best boss ever. He's such a cool guy. You live in the same state as him, find him and give him a big hug from me.

Edit: COVER!
Edit2: From that perspective, it looks like Duke had a boob job and painted his fingernails...

Also, even if you aren't a huge Duke Nukem fan, you should still buy this. It's going to be a piece of history some day.

Also the trailer was awesome. At one point, I was like "Is that potato bag he's punching away at?.......oh...wait".
