That would be awesome. I can't remember what show it was but a few years back I remember seeing a show that walked through his home. It was absolutely amazing - it was huge with secret doors and rooms. I wonder if it's up on youtube...

The man used to move out for THREE MONTHS so special effects gurus could turn his mansion into a haunted house every Halloween. Damn I wish I had gotten to go on just one of those tours myself.

Again not really gaming but just pure geek representative. Leonard Nimoy is a local boy born here in Massachusetts. Along that line Salvatore would be a cool option especially where he's a geek writer, and works for a video game company who was again born raised in Massachusetts.
If you're going along those lines, what sayest thou to Kasson Crooker (a.k.a. The Duke of Pannekoeken, formerly of Freezepop) keynoting? I don't think he'll do it (especially since Freezepop isn't one of the bands), but he has both experience as a member of a onetime PAX band AND a developer at Harmonix (which is what he is currently doing full-time).
Kasson is an all around cool guy, met him at a concert and have conversed with him briefly on Facebook. I don't know that he has the star power, but he definitely has the geek-cred
Ahhh, yes. I've been meaning to watch her TED talk. I can think of worse choices.
Not seeing anything on Official_PAX or the site though. Where was this announced?

Honestly I've never heard of her before this...so I did a bit of research about her on the net. She seems interesting, however, I think I'll likely be passing on the keynote this year and using the time to dive straight into everything else PAX has. Not nearly as excited for the keynote as I was when Wil Wheaton was announced last year

I think I'm going to have to pick up her book (and read it ) before PAX. I was going to get it for my Kindle app but I think I may pick up a physical copy to have her sign it.
Annnd book added to Wish List so I remember to pick it up later.

She was awesome on Colbert. Or rather Colbert was awesome. He came pretty prepared.
"You're a gamer... but you're also a girl..." "Just 5 more mins dad I've almost cured cancer."
But yeah, she seems really smart, the interview was actually very interesting. And that was only 5 mins. I think this could be one of the best keynotes. Also she used the term epic win on live TV, which was an epic win.
I'm really happy Jane is the keynote speaker for PAX East 2011. Sadly, the mainstream media won't be so keen if this astoundingly ignorant review is anything to go by:

See, that's my sole concern with these things. Why not use the opportunity to come across as an intelligent gamer girl, smashing one or two stereotypes simultaneously, and then not use things like epic win?
I DVR'd the Colbert thing last night (probably pointless as I could have just found it online today I'm sure). I'm also about 60 pages in on the book - so far it's really interesting. I'm 99% certain it will demand a re-reading though. It's a pretty detailed read - alot like the various psych books I had to read in college actually.
Except for if you live outside the US, whereupon the website sadly informs me that UK is so behind the times that 'Videos are not available in your country'
It will be a good keynote - although I'll admit after watching her speech I'm a bit on the side of the negative reviewer when it comes to her "games" that she feels will enable gamers to change the world. I agree with her on many of her points, but when she gets to her idealistic, almost utopian, games she loses me a bit. I'll see how I feel once I get through the book...

I would walk around with a chub all day long if he was the keynote speaker.

Muzyka and/or Zeschuk (Founders of Bioware)
Anthony Burch
Gabe Newell
...and purely from a geeky standpoint Nathan Fillion or Felicia Day.

I received an email from PAX Media less than an hour ago. There was no embargo on it, so up it went.
I'll settle for another Acquisitions Inc game though.
Ex-Agent to the Stars, ex a lot of other things too.
Pax East 2011, 2012 Veteran. 2014 now loading.
Looks interesting - think I'll grab that on the Nook store tonight.
Foreshadowing?

Yeah, that happened to me yesterday. If she gives the same caliber at the keynote, that will be awesome. Epic Win ;p.
