THE CONTEXT SO FAR:
The apprentice accidentally killed the mistress' new pet monster, so he's snuck out of the castle to get a new one to replace it before she finds out and does painful things to him. Also the city he's at is magic I guess and most people can't see it?

God I love Oglaf.
