    I need to learn a little about genres because I don't know a goddamn thing about music and whenever I ask for recommendations people say "what kind of music do you like?" and I'm like huh???

    I browsed through the artists on my friend's last.fm account and they were all "experimental ambient" or "noisecore" or "mathcore" and my brain melted.

    Jack White always came off to me as a hip city boy who had big dreams to live outside a small midwest town in a rinky dinky dilapidated house. Converse with ranchers and farmers at the town general store while wearing his rockstar getup. Just a simple life rousing up bible belt values.

    the good thing about those music nerds like that is that as far as I have seen, they're entirely an internet breed of nerd.

    all the music nerds I actually know just know have a kind of scary knowledge of bands and artists, they don't get all >:[ about how you listen to it.
