Gameplay Tuning:
• Second Chance – players that put an enemy into Second Chance are now credited for a full kill once that enemy dies. If another player kills the enemy while the enemy is in Second Chance, they will get assist credit.
• Adjustments to the PSG1 with attachments.
• AK74U adjustments.
• RCXD adjustments.
• Silenced sniper rifle adjustments.
• Removed hit markers when shooting friendly equipment.

I'm not sure if this fix has been posted yet, but I thought I'd throw it out there. I tested it myself and the difference is HUGE.

-in your task manager, right click steam.exe and set priority to LOW
-set priority on blackopsmp.exe to HIGH
I still see people jumping around a little bit, but my PERSONAL performance is butter-smooth. It's like night and day, literally 100% better. Try it, if it works for enough people please put it in the OP.
I'm not 100% sure why this works, but there have been rumors that blops is not using video RAM effectively. If that's the case, setting the priority on the mp client higher is probably alleviating the problem at least partially by allocating a larger percentage of system RAM.

You can change sound to CD mode: 16 bits 44000 hz CD via control panel sound setting.
Misc. "potential" performance tweaks:
Run Steam in Offline mode > Start Black Ops > End the steam.exe process > Set BO process priority to high
/r_multiGpu - should be set to "0" if you do not have a multi-gpu graphics card.
/r_blur_allowed - people are reporting minor frame boosts with this set to "0"
/r_distortion - people are reporting minor frame boosts with this set to "0"

COD Points
Every time you play, you earn COD Points -- CP. What you used to unlock by level is now purchasable with the in-game currency. Unlock what you want when you want (Cannot be purchased with real money)
Contracts
Contracts are time-limited challenges you buy and get more CP if you finish them. "Using any combination of stats, we can make any kind of Contracts we want, and can change them at any time." Mercenary, Operations, and Specialist contracts - Contracts are going to be huge, do challenges for what type of gun you want and earn more XP and more CP! (Something like challenges)
- Wager Match - a new Free for All game type. Put your COD Points against other players and the top three people get paid in the match - top 3 get paid. One in the Chamber (pistols only, one bullet, 3 lives gain ammo from kills), Gun Game (go through each weapon), Sticks and Stones (Ballistic knife, tomahawk and crossbow) Sharpshooter (everyone gets same random weapon - each kill = perk and score multiplier.)
Diving Ability: Dive into prone/Dive behind cover/dodge grenades/can’t shoot while diving (Heard it was glitchy and the animation takes about a second to get out of, haven't seen much so far)I have also heard that you can dive through windows and over cover.--Holi
Customization: You can customize your weapon so it looks the way you want it to look - 16 New camouflages patterns, and you place your emblem on it, customize your red dot sight
The reticles you can choose when you use a sight- (Dot, Semicircle, Line with Dot, Circle, Smiley Face, Arrows Horizontal, Arrows Vertical, Arrows with Dot, Boxes, Burst, Circle within a Circle, Circle with Dot, Circle with Crosshairs, Circle with Inner Line, Circle with Outer Line, Circle with Arrows, Circle with Triangles, Outer crosshairs, Small Crosshairs, Large Crosshairs, Diamond, Diamond Outline, Heart, Radiation, Skull, Square, Square Outline, Star, 3 Dots, Treyarch Logo, Triangle, Outer Triangles, X, or X with Dot, and Yin-Yang.)
The colors you can choose are Green, Blue, Purple, Teal, Yellow and Orange.
Emblem Editor – Images, layers, and a background. You change the scale, move, color, rotate, all that stuff. Create layers, then purchase the option with COD points to put it on your gun.
Killcams show customization so you will know exactly who shot you just by seeing their weapon.

- Theatre mode: All Live games can be played back, searched, tagged, everything. The footage is yours. Storage up to 7 days or 100 games.

Create a Class
You see your character on this screen because Perk 1 has an impact on how your look in the game. If you are Ghost, you wear a Ghillie. If you take Flak Jacket, it's shown and you take less explosive damage.

One thing I have been noticing lately is that when I play late at night / early morning, my game will start to fill with Japanese people. Then after 4 or 5 of them enter the game, the host randomly migrates to one of the Japanese people, thus giving their entire team 4 bar and everyone else 2-3 bar. It also seems that if you play a game of sabotage with Japanese people and put down a Napalm, the napalm falls to the ground and then dissapears doing no damage - this happens EVERY time a Japanese person gets host, 3-4 times a game.
Anyone notice this happening when people of another origin country nab the host?

Also, I managed to get attack dogs twice. I have never gotten 11 kill streaks before. Ghost/SoH/Ninja all pro is so, so nice.
Fawst stole my post! Well, minus the attack dogs and ghost parts. I still haven't earned attack dogs. I should really try that sometime. I could've stolen an enemy care-package with attack dogs the other day, but some trollingdickbagfacepoohead* re-rolled the care-package on me.
New maps are awesome though. I just need to get Stadium figured out. I think its that I have trouble keeping track of the sight-lines near the B-point. There are just so many places to get shot from right there. Maybe I just need to avoid that area altogether. herpderp Volatile smrt

On the plus side, I'll be getting 20mbps down and 2 up, where I was getting 2 down (on a good day) and maybe 500-700kbps up before. All for less money than I was paying.
Hopefully, that'll make playing online less of an excersize in frustration.

also, 74u has the ability to make 1.0 KDR players into 10.0 KDR players with little to no extra effort whatsoever. That doesn't seem right to me.
Yeah, I don't like that part about this game.
It's a good gun, but come on - it doesn't make that big of a difference if the person was already using a gun like the FAMAS/AUG. I highly doubt a random player can pick it up and get 10 times the kills unless they went from getting 1 kill a game camping to 10 actually moving around.
Perhaps Acid was using hyperbole. Perhaps. What makes the 74u so good is that you can move around much faster with it, even while ADSing, and it does AR damage, at a mugh higher RoF (w/ Rapid Fire, obviously). Oh and has easily manageable recoil.
EDIT: Actually, the 74u does more damage than the AUG/FAMAS per bullet, and fires faster. Nah, that's not silly at all.
And dropshot speed!
It does actually allow you to go from standing to prone faster. Heh.
So, it basically does everything an AR does, only better.
Edit: I've seen 74 apologists say its fine because it fits the rock paper scissors template in that it still lacks long range ability. I have to wonder what game they're playing that has so many engagements at long range.
I swear that all they need to do is move it to the AR class (where it belongs) and that will be an easy and decent way to nerf it without actually nerfing it.
It's only faster than the FAMAS if you use the attachment slot for RF, and even then it's marginal (1000 instead of 940 is a much higher RoF?) The 74u also has higher recoil than the FAMAS (assuming you don't use a Grip).
Raise time is actually slower on the 74u, not faster.
EDIT: The 74u is only "bad" at long range if the person shooting you has decent aim and is using an AR. It's easy to pick off people at long range who don't retaliate quickly, but's true with the MP5k too in my experience.
It is still better than most of the assault rifles.
I don't use it anymore because I am tired of it. It is pretty much a FAMAS except you move faster because it is grouped with the SMGs.
Try anything with Steady Aim Pro. With that perk there is no reason what so ever to ADS.
You do all sorts of crazy stuff like throw black holes at items on the map, fire PaP's guns through portals in certain combinations, and have your whole team stand near a clock for a whole minute without moving. Apparently it actually leads to being able to "help" the guy you hear talking at the beginning of the round.
The G11's hip spread is already the same as an SMG. Steady Aim just makes it even more ridiculous.

I'm using the Olympia, so the faster switch to my Ex-clip 1911 and the faster bitch nade throw sounds like it might work nicely for my playstyle. But I'm not sure if it'd be worth losing SA for. Any opinions?
And if so, can I get the One Shot, One Kill Medals with a shotgun? I don't remember ever seeing that pop up when I kill someone, but I could just be oblivious.

I got my 3 blackbird contract last night running a silenced spas12 lw/sa/mara.
Sounds good to me. Keep on keeping on.
And, no, shotguns do not award one shot one kill medals.
If I was running with a SPAS, I probably wouldn't even consider anything except SA. But with the Olympia, I find I'm switching to my 1911 pretty often (since I only get two shots before having to reload), and at range a quick flash makes closing the distance gap much easier.
Maybe I'll just give it a shot and see what happens. Although I'll have to play a bunch of sniper to get the pro challenges, so that sucks. Maybe I'll go into hardcore for them.

step 2: aim at assault rifle guy at medium distance, kill him with 3 rounds shot faster than he can refire his famas/aug/m16/galil.
step 3: aim at smg/shotgun guy at short distance, kill him with 2 rounds shot faster (with less recoil) than he can refire his rapid fire mp5k/spas12.
step 4: come back here and trollface/umad everyone on the forums, then put your shades on and say "deal with it"

I'm not really bitching about it but I just find the gun boring because function/form the 74u is simply better than all other SMGs, and about as good as all the AR's (except you move faster so it's at least slightly better)
Also have there been things you guys have stopped even trying for, knowing that you still have some prestiges left? I don't bother to pro any perks other than lightweight (it practically pro's itself), flak, hardened, soh and hacker anymore. 15th is so close and yet so far
