I felt the opposite, Dhal. Ganzi was controlling the match with his drops, regardless of their cost-efficiency, he kept Haypro in his base and got map control. Some clutch defense/micro lead to 3base t against 3base z, only z had one mining base.

Uh, I thought it was pretty extensively tested that CC first is not as good economically as the standard 12 rax 15 orbital into FE due to mules being so good?

Yeah, CC first is worse economically and in army.

I think it's credit to HayprO's macro that he was in the first game for so long while under so much pressure and being stuck to 2 bases vs 2 base Terran. He just wasn't able to be efficient enough with his units to secure the 3rd, and wasn't really able to harass at all.

Does having the CC slightly faster compared to a 1rax FE really matter though? Honestly curious.

I was referring to a 1rax FE. Does that not usually have a cc started by about 20 supply?

I'd guess that going CC first puts you behind at the start, but you're going to have a bunch of extra SCVs later on due to the extra CC which will put you ahead.

I don't get this at all. Just what is haypro trying to do here. Missing cancels, not taking map control, isn't harassing, is just sticking to the same plan over and over.

it's 4 supply later but you're also making an OC so it's later than it sounds

I dunno I'm sure there have been lots of number people working on that but it makes sense to me to want to get a cc asap

but I don't have numbers at all

sorry I'm super tired I don't even know if that makes sense. the oc build makes sense that it would be better but I can see this having an advantage in certain cases.

Haypro needs to just go into the terran mineral lines with his muta ball. No amount of turrets can stand up to that many.

Haypro has secured two bases of his own to take him to five and denied Terran's fifth himself.

He's still got a strong chance.

Xeris's comments like these don't help dissuade me from that idea:
Sponsors?: We're sponsored by pennies we picked up in the various ponds and fountains around the world. The money is there and ready to be given out to some amazing players!
Who said we needed to have sponsors? Why can't I just be a millionaire who wants to run a league?

That'd be very nice of him, but if someone wants to STAY a millionaire that's not very smart. This first season is going to be a biiiig test run.

Yeah I wouldn't say that. That was a long game with a lot of back and forth and at times it really felt like haypro was getting the upper hand. He made a lot of mistakes, but to say he deserved to lose it is just ridiculous.

Eh, you're playing to lose if you have 50 or so mutas and you only hit their mineral line one single time. On the terran's 5th base.

Xeris is arguing some fucking stupid things in the NASL thread on TL.

Trying to claim that Koreans aren't better at SC2, that the foreigners are doing just as well. Uh, yeah, the foreigners that are IN Korea.

Its like he's assuming we're arguing that Koreans are genetically predisposed to being superior at SC2. Its not that at all. Its the environment and the regimen that they have there that produces such brilliant players. You can't look at Jinro and IdrA and say "look, Westerners can be just as good at SC2!!!" because for the purposes of such a discussion, Jinro and IdrA ARE Koreans, they are a product of that environment and they benefit from it.

Western gaming teams are more like clans. A bunch of guys who kind of hang out together online, play games together, and hang out in the same Ventrilo with shared tags. This is a far cry from the true TEAMS that are in Korea, and given only a year or two, there will be no competing with them.
